Final Fantasy XIII?

According to video game news outlet RESET, the first info on the new Final Fantasy game, likely for Playstation 3, has been leaked. The game is going to revolve around the number 13 and everything it symbolizes. Since this is unsubstantiated, we are tagging it with rumor for now.

Now THAT sounds like an RPG I can look forward to. Though it's too early to take any sort of information leak, rumor or not, in a serious tone... I think it would be a lot of fun to play such a symbolistic game such as a FFXIII which revolves around the number thirteen. It has potential to be good.

I hope Square-Enix doesn't muck it up.

i was hoping that it was FF 7 remade. But 13 is good too. i was just hoping for a remake of 7!

I hope it does revolve around the unlucky number because frankly I'm sick of this upbeat nonsense. Now I know the past few FF's have had dark undertones but they have been coated in a sweet caramel. Especaily FFX-2.

I'm a sucker for dark symbolism and sad endings.
The only thing I really want from FFXIII is a lead male character who isn't designed to appeal to the Female market. I understand you ladies need a little eye candy too but I can't stand prancing around as Zidane or Tidus. I prefer my men moody and angsty (no matter how Cliché).

I hope Final Fantasy XIII does not end up being another Final Fantasy X-2 in terms of critical success; thus no more mixed reactions. I hope it recaptures the magic of Final Fantasy VI and VII, and it may be the best Final Fantasy ever. The only ones who would detest Final Fantasy XIII, I hope, would be old school purists.

i just hope they don't make the char's look and dress like prissy little island folk lol. that damn FFX style is driving me crazy, looks like FFXII may be a little bit of that too.

they need to mix some staff of FF VI, VII, VIII... to make XIII. unless that's what they are doing now? in that case... just FF VI, and VII =X

A lot of girls prefer that too, mind. How many 'Clouds bitchslave108' or '<3 Leonheart' members have you missed?

I'm not getting my hopes up at all though. FFXI sounded great until I found out it was only going to be playable online. FFXII sounded fantastic until I found out it was using the 'Action RPG' gaming system (and saw what a priss the lead male and female both look). FFXIII will probably be awesome right up till the tentical rape or something -_-

On the contrary; if the game truly does live up to the magic of VI and VII as you so claim to hope, us "old school purists" would actually be quite content with the game.

I'm expecting huge things out of FFXIII. The thought of the game being based around the unlucky number, makes it sound like it'll have a great, dark storyline. I enjoyed FFX as much as anybody, but damnit do I want a FF in the same style as FFVII (not a remake, just in a similar style).

Damn these main characters are getting even more and more femalish. Squall just plain ol' acted like a female, and since then they've been getting girlier and girlier. I don't mind having a girl as the main character...so long as it's a girl...not a man that looks like a girl.

Final Fantasy XIII would not be rushed, for I hope it would be as successful as Final Fantasy VI and VII, not only financially, but also critically. No more letdowns! I hope it will not garner mixed reactions like Final Fantasy X and X-2 did. Ken Kutaragi has said that it will ten years before there will be a PlayStation 4. This would give Square Enix more time to develop Final Fantasy XIII, XIV, and XV. I also hope that Nobuo Uematsu plays a big role in scoring Final Fantasy XIII, thus reprising his role on the staff. I care less about the gender of the main character. Final Fantasy XIII might attract a larger fanbase. It should be what Gamespot calls a high-tilt game. It should focus on whatever the cult video game diehards believe that counts the most, such as gameplay and replay value. The game would have a mixture of the staff of Final Fantasy VI, VII, and X. I also hope that Final Fantasy XIII will truly wake up old school Final Fantasy diehards, especially Final Fantasy I diehards.

I really have visions of that game to be really hitting the gaming cafes and homes of the million addicted FF players. Well, its very symbolic, and thats a very unique approach for Square Enix. I really hope too, and I would pray for this, that Square Enix wouldnt make it such a bummer, or what do you call that.... such a waste of time and money, and yeah, effort. I hope my excitement pays off.
