Which type of magick is the most useful to you?

Well to start off which magick do you find useful most. Is it the well-known black magic that does some killer damage to enemies? Or is it the favorite white magic that is really helpful when the going gets tough? Or perhaps its the infamous time magic or the new green magic? Or maybe its the deadly arcane?

Well personally I would say I find white magic the most useful one of all. Sure black magic can be a help too while the other magicks or a help as well, but in battles and when you run out of potions and healing items., it can be a life saver espicially in this game.

Well seeing that the only enemy/boss that i have used black magic on thus far is Belias. Other than that, i haven't used it at all.

I have yet to use green magic period either. Or wait..are protect and shell green or are they time i can't think right now.

Basically other than white magic, the only other spells i have used are protect and shell. White magic seems to be all i need and is definitely the most useful.

I go with black magick. First of all you don't need white magick if you just kill your enemies and second i'm not really sure what arcane and green magick are. Third, i've never seen a good use for time magick.

You gotta be joking me right? haha, have you played Final Fantasy before? Haste is quite possibly one of the greatest spells in the game, and guess what... its time magic =p. Time magic is freaking awesome, i love it... however i'd still pick white magic just because i don't like to use potions or items in general, therefore its pretty important for me to have good white magic spells.

I still can't believe you said that about time magic haha XD.

And yes, i spell magic without the k because that's what i'm used to

Well i'm not sure how far you are in the game..it's not always so easy to "just kil your enemies" especially with a lot of bosses. (unless you are severly overlevelled), as Balthier told you at the beginning of the game, healing is always important. Honestly, black magic have close to no use in this game besides elemental bosses. (atleast thus far for me, and i'm probably 75% or more done with the main quest). Even if you don't heal..status ailments are always a problem unlesss you have enough remedys and all the remedy lores equipped. Not to mention spells like Regen, etc.

I agree for awhile at the beginning i didn't even use items. But honestly in hard boss battles you'll need both, you always need backup. Plus potions are a lot more handy because you use them a lot faster than spells and sometimes those extra few seconds are the difference between life and death.

Yeah haste too i forgot about..eh. I haven't used it TOO much, all my characters already have all their swiftnesses triggered on the license board so most of them move pretty fast as it is but haste always can come in handy.

Basically this is all i used: white magic, protect, shell, haste.
..plus Penelo spamming Water non stop on Belias.

As I said before, Black Magick gets better as you get further into the game. Once you have Firaga and the -ga spells you will be doing 4000 damage easy with the magick. On some of the rough ones, you probably won't do as much, so Flare is better which is a 5000 damage almost always regardless of what monster or boss you are fighting.

I use all of my magick pretty equally. I do have Gambits for Hastega, Protectga and Shellga. But I use Arcane for Bubble. And then I have Curaga along with Flare. Every so often I will use Syphon when I am super low on MP. And for poweful monsters that are weak to light, I use Holy. So I use everything a lot more than you would think. Hastega definitely is the best, simply put. Time Magick makes things end quicker.

Oh and I almost forgot the other most important spell, Dispel.

Green Magicks have saved my butt quite a bit.

I rushed through without doing alot of levelling up first, and so having protect and shell has saved me. White magicks would come in second, of course. I haven't really expanded on the black magick too much... probrably because I've needed my MP for other things, like Quickenings

Yea for sure, i'm sure i'm going to have to use black magic more sometime soon i've just been able to scrape by without using it thus far. I've leveled it up since you told me i just haven't bought any of the spells as of yet. As for green and time..i'm somewhat underleveled in those. Now that all my augments are for the most part filled, i'm gonna have more time to properly level up my magic. Plus that golden amulet certainy helps with the LPs.

And i WISH i had dispel..there about a million times i wish i had that spell on bosses. Most of all right now because i'm getting my butt kicked from the tyrant boss in girvulean (wow spelled that wrong), and he has shell and protect on. I just have to buy it though

I personally think white magick is the most useful, because it is the magick I use most often for healing and getting rid of negative status effects. It's also helped me out of some ugly situations in boss fights and some mob hunts.

For right now I'd say white also. Although one of my characters does have as much of all magick as I can afford to get, I find that I don't use it much. Mainly because I don't need it on regular mobs and most bosses are immune to all the good spells. I find it better to just straight up fight things and use my mp to stay alive than waste it on spells that won't stick anyways.

White magick, if any, because as in most RPGs, white magick is guaranteed to work; I hate depending on magick that may or may not work, because you never know what that enemy or boss isn't immune to (which often is very, very little), aside their obvious elemental immunities.
