Square Enix Ships over 1.5 Million FFXII Copies (New Record)

Released just last week (October 31st), Final Fantasy XII has reached a franchise record-breaking 1.5 million copies shipped to retail outlets throughout North America. This doesn't mean that SE actually SOLD all these copies, but none-the-less, still a crowning achievement. The demand still remains high for the title, regardless of the new 'realtime' combat revamp and other new features that SE keeps throwing at us.

Just quick news that I thought was interesting... the game seems to be getting great reviews everywhere... I don't remember a game that has actually lived up to the 'hype' as much as this title has so far.

EDIT: my GOD - I gained a rank (Dark Knight) on this post... at the rate I post, this is really an achievement. hah

I believe that they shipped that many copies of the game. Alot of places were packed when the game came out. People have been waiting for it for so long. It was kinda like a timebomb just waiting to go off. Well...it finally went off.

Though it's not one of my favorite Final Fantasy games, it is alot of fun and something new. I think that it's better that Squeenix went with the changes that they did. If it would have stayed the same, people would have started drifting away from the series. There's only so much of the same thing that you can be expected to play over and over again.

I really hope this game sells well to show the company that the changes that have been made are good changes.

With 120 hours in Dragon Quest 8 I was definately ready for something that wasn't turn based. I'm not sure that I can go back now(outside of replaying older RPGS)
