Demon wall *Spoiler*
I put spoiler here because people may not have gotten this far. Anyway, has anyone defeated the first demon wall, right inside the enterance to the tombs? I only get him down halfway before he crushes me, and he usually banishes Vaan! This thing is tough!

I didn't even try..i was thinking about going back and giving it a go because i figure i might get something from montblac for doing it.
The other one you are forced to fight was really easy for me so i figured the first one might be the same way but i was basically feeling lazy so never tried it. I think i mite try it tonite to see how it goes..hopefully i have enough teleport stones to get there because i still have to make my thru the ozma plains

I tried a couple times a while ago when you first arrive and failed. But I probably could so back and slaughter it as I am now. I don't know if there is point aside from Montblanc giving you money for killing another boss. There maybe something to killing it, I don't know. It is not really important to fight since you don't have enough time to fight it.

Actually, you don't even have to fight the first wall. Just hold R2 and run by it. The second wall you do have to fight, though. It's not all that tough. He banished Vaan for me, too. Here's what I did...
As soon as you get to the hallway, run all the way up to him as fast as you can. Once you get there, make sure your melee fighters are out and just lay into him. You should be fine. Once he banishes Vaan, I put in Balthier. You could always use a Quickening!

I managed to beat both of them when I first entered the Tomb. Even though the first one was optional I used quickenings and luckily I was able to do about 9 combos and really drag down its HP and just attacked it for the whole battle till it dies. For the people who need help, you should definitely use quickenings to fight both of the walls and always heal from time to time if your HP gets low.

I did it, tryed many times and went lvling up so all my chars had 3 quicknings. And made a huge combo so I could manage to take the rest of the walls hp before I got killed.

[spoiler]
I have beat the first wall, and I use 2 character using quickening and got 11 hits... if you beat this guy you can get the demon sword, but you have to fight second demon wall too, afterwards you go back to the first wall and press on jewel on the wall he left, and stairs will appear..there is tressure box( try save game first before getting treasure box) at end of this hidden path and give random item, so if you don't get the demon sword first try, reload and go back unti you get it. I got it when I reloaded 4 times. my main 3 were in level 22 and 20 and 22 when i kicked his butt. and buy the hammer from the dude outside with chocobo.. and make sure you have license point on 10% faster and higher damage..

I'd like to clear up mc00's post a bit... since its rather confusing and messy. If you defeat both Demon Walls, go back to where the first Demon Wall appears and there is a shiny crystal in it. Upon activating the crystal, two staircases appear adjacent to you... both of which lead to a chest which has a 70% chance of appearing and a 50% chance of dropping Demonsbane Sword.
You do not have to save your game before checking for the chest. Once the Demon Wall is defeated it will not come back. Just exit out of the Tomb with the nearby transporter and come back in. Zoning resets all the chests in the Tomb. Why go through all the effort to get this sword? The strongest sword at the time that you can Equip is the Ancient Sword which has ATT +35. Demonsbane has ATT +59, which at that level is insanely good. My damage went from 200-250 to 750-800 just by equiping this sword. I was one-shotting flans in the Tomb at level 20. I'd say that's worth the effort. As for killing the first Demon Wall, its more about luck and secondly about proper leveling. If you have all of your characters a similar level, it will make the battle much easier. If only 3 of your characters are leveled good, well you're just fucked. Telega will rape your ass every time. You can't effectively defeat this thing with underleveled characters, so you're doing yourself a favor by always having your characters equally leveled. I'd say that for the whole game. Use the fact that you can switch characters out on the fly to your advantage. Here is how I killed him before he had a chance to even cast Doom on me: I had all of my cure Gambits disabled. This is important. You waste a LOT of time with needless cures. This guy doesn't do much damage. (if he's beating you to a pulp, its most likely either your armor is shit, or you're wearing light armor on melee or heavy on ranged). I had Vaan, Basch, and Ashe open with their Quickenings, doing a five-hit combo + Inferno. I switched out all three members and started laying everything they had to waste his ass. Penelo spammed magic while Fran and Balthier used their most upgraded equipment currently available to pummel him from a distance. The poor fellow didn't know WTF hit him. This guy is a tough cookie because of the short time length and the 20k HP, but if you think strategically you can take him down. Keep Blind off your people, ignore Doom and your health and use those other characters! You have six for a reason.

Yeah i think it certainly be a hard fight especially when you are actually fighting through the tomb. I just returned there (and my team is on lv. 32) and managed to defeat him easily using one 12 hit quickening combo. Got the sword as well, which even for being later in the game was really powerful. Though soon after i got an Icebrand which was slightly better so i really didn't use it much. All in all though, great sword for when you can receive it!
