Vossler (Spoilers)

For those who have gotten far enough to see his demise, what did you think? I felt bad for him. He thought he was doing things in the best interest of Dalmasca, but was too short sighted to realize the Empire was going to dupe him again. I cant see why Basch could not of picked him up and run with him to get out of the Leviathan before it exploded.

Yeah that whole thing shocked me. Well actually..ever since the scene at the end of the tomb of raithwell you could tell something was up with him but i never expected it. He did make a lot of comments about how they were fighting in vain but come on Vossler.

I did feel really bad for him as well..he was somebody who put the interests of his country above anything else. He may have had somewhat of a short temper at times but he was as loyal as it gets if you ask me. He certainly was a "son of dalmasca". Just another tragedy of war i guess.

I certainly could see that Basch COULD have taken him with them..but after something like that, you know Ashe wouldn't have trusted him.

Well Vossler more or less resigned himself to death once you beat him. Basch acknowledged that fact and even though he could have saved him, he did not. He probably did not want to live with the shame or distrust that would follow. He was always thinking about his kingdom, but in the case of the Empire and Vayne you really cannot trust anything that they say. They are seeking power, ultimate power and will say and do whatever they can to meet those ends. Vossler should have realized that, but he was in a corner that he could not get out of by that point.

I know, but the darkness is starting to get me down. There have been like five light moments in the whole game.

Why would he be willing to kill his best friend and the Princess he swore to protect? The first time I fought him, he had no qualms about it. He may have been given a chance to be King after that, but I dont think he was like that.

I have to agree..this certainly is one of the darkest stories yet in the series. Sometimes to me it's just depressing, though i guess there are enough light moments to give you some hope.

I agree with what you said about Vossler, but honestly I didn't think he had this in him either.

I agree 100% This is definitly one of the more darker FF storylines. So many characters have died. Probrably the one that made me go "damn..." was
Spoiler:
When Galbranth (sp?) had to kill Drace for going against Vayne.

Yep yep.

Eisole is a spoony bard - (lv -1)
$10 Says Vossler somehow lived and will be in the sequel Revenant Wings. Since Espers in FF12 live within the Mist, and Nethicite released a ton of it, it wouldn't be surprised if Vossler was rescued or protected somehow.

As of now he is VERY dead. But who knows what'll happen...

Evangel has levelled up - (lv 1)
I figure his death was a little premature and he could've at least tried to win back their trust but he deserved it anyway.
