I got like 24, i did it fighting the empires knights where you fight that judge. (Man i'm bad with names)

253, by repeatedly defeating the low level undead at the Lhusu Mines. No other kinds of enemies in those areas to disrupt your chain. Plus, I had the grimoire for the undead, so they dropped better items. I also had everyone equipped with a golden amulet, which doubles LP earned. So I came out like 100,000 gil richer and with over 500 LP for only like 30 minutes of work.

Mine was around 125 for both the Sandsea jawas and the green horses in the Zer. Caverns. Didn't really get that good of stuff for taking the time to build those chains either so I gave up on chaining!

hah the undead just keep comin (almost all they have in mines) but I just couldn't be bothered so only like 30

I also had around 120-130 chain in the sandsea killing the urutan-yesna people or whatever the hell they are called i wanted to keep going but i had 99 earth magicite and i wanted to sell them for more money so i lost my chain

before that i think it was in the tomb killing the zombie guys that i had like 90 chain.

I'm still trying to figure out this chain thing. First, I know I've seen the "Chain Level" thing and heard the music it plays for it at least 4 times. I haven't figured out how many kills I have to add to the chain before the "Chain Level" occurs. Also, the game doesn't tell you what "chain level" you have reached. There is no place in the Party Menu that I've found that shows how many chains your max is currently, or how many chain levels you've achieved so far.

Do I have something misunderstood here?

Anyway, for what it's worth, I know I've chained more than 18 before, but today I got a chain level at 13. Go figure...

Edit: Oh, and the 18 is when the loot payoff (healing) took place, so why did it have to go from 13 (chain level) to 18 (loot payoff)? Does the chain counter get reset to 0 everytime you resume a game?

Yes. It does. It resets when you even just TOUCH a savepoint. Or enter a town.
So.. if you don't want to break the chain, don't save and don't go in a town. (The Outpost counts as a town.)

My highest loot chain was 65 or so on Skeletons in the Lhusu Mines. I got to max chain level of course.

Like Andromeda said earlier. It's easy to tell what chain level you have by the loot Icon. silver bag is level 2, gold bag coin is level 3, and level 4 is the huge big gold shiny coin of shinyness.

But anyway, my highest Quickening chain? 11.

But yes. you have definately misunderstood. =P

My highest chain in the game so far has been 402 in the Henne Mines. I just killed bats like crazy and it took about an hour or so to get that. I wanted to go to the max, but after a while it gets boring. I managed to get about 38k gold and a lot of LP though

| had about 180 Skellys in the mines..the mines in the sky city.
trying to get 99 bones. sell high. :-p
