Inventory | Right now I'm working my way through the Nalbina Dungeons..all three of my characters are on level 8. (Vaan, Balthier, Fran) Highest chain is 16 Vaan i'm teaching swords, white magic, etc. Balthier is sticking with guns but i'm teaching technics such as poach Fran i'm teaching green magic in addition to the magic she already has Yeah the license board is great..i love the way you develop your characters, it gives you so much freedom. So far i haven't had much trouble with the way i'm leveling up the characters, the only trouble i had was at the beginning of the game with Vaan. So far bosses have not been bad at all but i'm sure things will get harder. and i'm only a hedgeknight as of now. I tried to take on that flowering cactus soley with Vaan awhile back, but not only were his attacks not doing much but the damn thing blinded me and i had no eye drops. I'm gonna have to take him to school once i have the chance again EDIT: about 10 hrs into the game now, just arrived at Bhujerba. Vaan, Fran, Balthier at Lv. 10, Baasch at Lv. 11, Lamont (guest) at Lv. 10 Just glad to be done with that dungeon with the Mimic Queen (my first challenging boss battle, only vaan and fraan survived). Baasch was hilarious trying to fight flans with no weapons . Nice that the third hunt was on my way back through the easterlands, killed that flowering cactice. Haven't finished another hunt, but signed up for three. Tried to fight the wraith but decided to come back later.

Inventory | My characters are all level 10 right now ecxept Basch who is level 12. Ive only done two hunts so far, im planning on doing more soon. Im still kinda experimenting with the whole gambit system, its a lot more fun to tinker with then I thought it would be. I think it adds a bit more strategy to the battle system. Quote:
In the story Im saving Penelo or whatever. I have to say now that Ive played with this battle system its going to be hard to go back and play RPGs where you run into battles and they have to load and all that. The license board is amazing. In a lot of the other FF games weapons really didnt play that big of a part. For example you could beat FFVIII with out upgrading at all easily. I also love the ability to use whatever the hell I want for whatever character. One of my playthroughs Im going to make Basch an axe weilding white mage. God I love this game.

Inventory | Yea i really have to mess around more with the gambit system. I think i just got lucky on that Mimic Queen fight, i basically just had Fran as a healer, as well as Vaan. I had ran out of healing items completely going thru the dungeon so basically i had vaan and fran lay in the cut using cure on balthair and baasch as they went balls to the wall attacking. Once those two died though i had no phoenix downs but vaan and fran were able to finish him off. Haha i know it will be hard going back to normal battle systems..this makes things so..quick and fun. Standard turned based battles will start to feel like a chore again. I feel like with the look of the game and the battle system, the whole game feels like a strange mix between Vagrant Story and traditional final fantasy titles. It's amazing all the freedom the game gives you with your characters. I'm kinda still thinking over good combinations for my characters. Anywayz, just made it thru the Bhujerba mines. Now it's time to "testify"..i'm probably gonna go back to the mines to do some leveling up before advancing more in the story though. Also upgrade my weapons and armor. Vaan is really the only one with a brand spanking new set of weapons and armor. I am always so low on cash. ![]() Anywayz, good luck everyone! I'm talking a little break for the time being but probably will be back at it within an hour or so. I know that Lamont guy seemed fishy, come on he had a sword that was bigger than he was! ![]()

Inventory | LOL. Im starting to do more of the hunts now and I went to kill that Cactular flower thing. I only had Vaan out when I was fighting it at the time. I used a bunch of fire magik on it and was killing it with ease. He was running away untill he had almost no health. He then turned around and proceeded to rape Vaan with the 1000 needles attack. I then pulled out Fran, Baltheir, and Basch they automatically started to attack it and I had Fran start to caste the fire spell that would kill it. The Cactular again used its 1000 needles attack killing Basch before being hit by Frans fire spell... It was an epic battle. Im still deciding on where to go with my characters. So far: Vaan-Well rounded he knows all types of magic and he uses the assasins blade which rapes all. Fran-Im kind of thinkin im going to make her into a mage. Ill have her use bows so she can stay at a distance and heal my characters. Basch, Balthier- havent really messed around to much with these characters yet. Im not sure where ill go with them.

Inventory | Im in the Leviathan, about to fight the Judges. I fought them once before, and I got slaughtered. I have levelled everyone up to Level 13, and taught Balthier and Vaan a Strength Up License, and Fran and Basch are just levelling up. I should be able to beat them now, think I just got caught not healed up.

| The Old Skool Warrior | Yeah, I managed to beat them with ease while everyone was level 12 (and Basch was 13). Nothing has actually changed since my last post except for my location: Sandsea -- and not the bar. Again, you'll all know what that means when you get there. Many of you are catching up to me. ...silly job, detracting from FFXII time. ![]()

Inventory | i guess i'm just lucky that i'm a loser bum with no job at the moment which means all the time for FF XII. I might even slow down my pace on the game, it'd be a shame to get this game over with as soon as possible. I'd like to spend a good amount of time on it. Just started on the Leviathan. I feel like my team is not leveled up enough so hopefully i won't have a hard time. Might have to do a little leveling up before going on. Honestly, i haven't used much magic at all thus far into the game, Penelo was the one i was making out to be my main magic user but unfortunately she isn't in my party. Barely even bought many spells.Vaan Lv. 11, Balthiar Lv. 11, Fran, Lv. 10, Baasch Lv. 12, Vossler (guest) Lv. 15

Inventory | I just got out of the Leviathan, and have all six characters now. I am going to some major monster hunting to get levels and money to buy equipment, because what I have now is terrible. Ashe learned a Quickening, but I did not get a chance to use it in the last Boss Fight.

| After finishing my third mob hunt(Cactuar Flower), I went back to town and now I'm in the dungeon with the mimics. Right now my party is Vaan, Fran, and Balthier, with Basch as a guest. Vaan is at level 10 with Fran and Belthier at level 11. My game time is 7:18. I'm still a hedge knight after doing three mob hunts. As for Vaan on the license board he's using swords and is like a Warrior that knows magic. As for Fran, I made her use swords as well and she is like my Red Mage. As for Bathier he's still using guns and he knows a little bit of magic as well. Right now I'm gonna try to level up little bit more and get past the dungeon.

| The Quiet One | Well I finished with the Leviathan an hour so or ago and have been making money since I've been short on it for a while. I have two Quickenings now, Ashe and Basch have one each. I've used them a couple times, but it is going to be hard to get used to. I'm currently at 11:19. Vaan 15 Balthier 14 Fran 9 Basch 16 Ashe 16 Penelo 14 Hedge Knight still with 35478 points. I made a 62 chain just now during my leveling, which was great for making money. I know where I'm going for my money needs. It is good exp too. I have been trying to kill Nidhogg for a while and utterly failing. It has not killed me yet, but I can't survive. I go in with 20 potions and 10 phoenix downs and use my Quickenings right off. Since I'm so bad with them I probably do not much damage. And then everything is fine until the last 15% and it just goes nuts and does not stop attacking and I can't heal fast enough. So I'm coming back to that later. I have my License set up more or less in the same fashion right now, because I'm aiming towards specific things. Though I'm going to need to start looking at some armor license soon. I've been focusing a lot of the others lately. Everyone has two Swiftness, a bunch of extra HP and MP after kills. They also have increase attack bonus. I'm going to be needing to get money and buy some spells or something.

Inventory | I have yet to learn any quickenings. Are they at the edge of the boards? I'm sure i'll run into them soon. I managed to beat those judges asses even at a low level, though i'm having a much harder time just escaping. I guess i'm trying to be curious george too much and explore the other parts of the ship. Managed to find an ancient sword among some other things before getting killed. Eh maybe should try the more direct route. I'm just hoping there isn't another boss battle coming up. Definitely had a lot of fun leveling up Ashe though. ![]() Yeah that nidhog completely wrecked me when i tried to fight it. I'm gonna have to do the same and level up once i'm done with the Leviathan. Also, get some money, buy new spells, equipment, etc.

Inventory | hey everyone! i am at the save point just vefore the queen mimic boss battale. im into the game about 6 and a half hours. everyone is at level 9 except bashe (level 10). i had a very hard time trying to get to the queen mimic boss. took me FORVER. i kept dying when trying to kill the battery mimics... everytime i was fighting one.. other monsters kept joing it and beating me down! i was like "WHY DONT THOSE MONSTERS MIND THIER OWN BUSINESS!! JEEZZ!!" lol hahaa but ya. i am seriously thinking about restarting the game though cuz i got pretty lost with the license grid and a little with the gambit thingy too. so my characters arent really that great right now and arent going anywhere specific. should i start over? is it too late? should i keep going? let me know! i did not like how we have to have a license for weapoms, armor, etc. why cant we just equip them once we buy them? but its ok now.. i feel a little better with it. and one more thing...is the only place to get weapons at any store or merchant? pleas let me know.. either PM me or on here.. sorry for going a bit off topic but ya..

| The Quiet One | Well I finished up things in the Tomb of Raithwall and back in town. I have my first Esper as well now too. So I have each one of my three party members with something extra to use. I beat the last boss I fought solo with my Esper, that was a lot of fun. I picked up a few more Marks and got all of the Gambits I could and some new spells. I am up to 15:09 now. Vaan 20 Balthier 14 Fran 9 Basch 20 Ashe 20 Penelo 14 Hedge Knight 67565 Clan Points Before continuing to the next part I am going to be trying to kill a few Marks, at least one more since that is all I need for the next rank. I have been putting some license in my armor, but most of it is still going in abilities and things. Basch and Ashe of a lot of strength, and Ashe has up to lv 5 white magick now too. I'm gearing her up more for a strong attack, but a good white magick base. Basch is all out power more or less with some healing ability. And I'm trying to make Vaan more well rounded. So he is not so strong, but got a little bit of everything. Penelo sitting on 1044 License Points since I have not touched her since the first time. Highest chain now is 118 I have six things in my Six Pirate's Den. The only problem I run into is that I am always low on money. I went out just to go kill for money, because I wanted some better equipment. It is pretty rough to make cash. I know what I do to make quick cash, but it is still hard to keep around.

| Magically Delicous | I feel so sad... all I've had time to accomplish was kill Rogue Tomato. I'm never home to play the game... either at work or at college. I miss the days where I could beat a game in 2-3 days straight... of course, in a way it might be better, because the game lasts longer for me now. Its not over and done with in 3 days.. hah. Oh well, once I'm done with Calc III hw and test studying, I might have time to play for 1-2 hours before class and work... O.o

I knew i should have leveled up more..grrr..gonna b hard to level up on the leviathan but i'll figure out something. Maybe just mess with my gambits a little bit. yeah money is hard to find, its all about sellin that loot i guess. For awhile i just kinda kept all my loot, when i got to the leviathan i sold it all for close to 15k! I was happy i had some money so i went to town gettin new weapons and armor for my team.

Character 1 Assuming this is Vaan (you may opt not to use him, your choice), set up as usual. Character 2 Ally: HP < 30% >> Potion Ally: HP < 40% >> Cure Foe: Party leader's target >> Attack Character 3 Ally: HP < 20% >> Hi Potion Ally: HP < 50% >> Cure Ally: HP < 70% >> Protect Foe: Party leader's target >> Attack Ashe is a good choice for character three in this one. Splitting up curing duties by alternating percentages really helps conserve everyone's MP. I started by taking out all of the soldiers before touching Ghis, mostly because Ghis sits in the background for a good 20 seconds before actually getting to you -- by that point, you can already have two of the soldiers dead. ...and now I think I'm going to set up a help thread, where spoilers are allowed, primarily because this is meant solely to be a progress thread. A bit more on-topic, I haven't played since I went to bed last night. Of course, the fact that I slept for 12 hours might have something to do with that. Andromeda is now ahead of me. I haven't gotten to the Tomb yet. edit: @James: You're at a good level for the Sandsea.

Inventory | Yeah, my trouble is that i didnt buy any gambits really so all i have the basic ones and the few i have found as treasure. Only HP ones i have are <60%, < 70%, < 80%. Plus i have a somewhat crappy selection of potions, went crazy with my money spending it all on new weapons and armor. i went for the mistake of trying to go straight for Ghis while i was getting killed by those soldiers. Thanks for the tips though, if only i had all the gambits Though now i am quite confident i should be able to take him on. I've leveled up quite a bit in the Leviathan. Its such a great place to level up with all the guys coming at you, if you ever need you can always go back to the save point to restore hp/mp. Ashe is a very good healer now, so i'm gonna have her be my main healer, with Vaan healing as well. Baasch i just learned my first quickening, it's that same one he used at the beginning of the game. Just don't know how to use them right. Anywayz, STILL on the leviathan, about to give Ghis another go. Vaan Lv 13 Ashe Lv 13 Baasch Lv. 14 Vossler Lv. 15

Also Loco made a help thread for a reason... to you know... help people? You're obviously stuck with something so go post in there, but please don't just put "i'm at the temple i don't know what to do". Everyone's been posting their levels, where they're taking their characters and what they're doing at the time, i'd suggest you follow suit if you plan on posting in this thread again.
