Its a Sad Day when....

So last weekend I was kind of in a frump and really had nothing going on for me. So I decided to go to the store and pick up a copy of Dragon Quest 8...But not for that game. I bought it so I could play the Demo of FF12 that comes paired with it. OMG I was in heave a while. I really really like the new battle system. I think its finally going to add some challenge to the game. ..no more random walking around to get into a battle.

But isn't it sad when you go out and buy a game that you very well might never play just for the demo?

if u buy anythin u av to use it or its just pointless. who cares wat comes with it, giv the game a go. i bet u like it. i dying to get FFXII but u don't see me buy demos i can wait for the full thing

I think that's pretty damn funny actually. I've never heard something like that before but I'll probably not forget it. Though, now that I think about it, if a pack of Oreos promised to make me irresistable to women (as if I'm not already), I'd probably buy it and throw the cookies away. <==not really comparable hehe.

The demo was one of the reasons I bought DQ8 too. They could have put the demo in Playstation magazine but they were bastards and pressured us to buy DQ8 to get it. DQ8 is a good game though, you should definately play it. I don't like FFXII's new battle system; I want more controll over all of my characters. One more thing, just a pet peeve though, when you go to open a chest Vaan doesn't open it with his hands or dink it with his sword, the chest just opens. Chests do not open by them selves and say "Here zu go!" Sorry that was a little off topic but I thought I better say it now or never.

I actually have done the same to an extent. Im not too sure if it was the same for everywhere in the world but when you baught the re-release of FFVI you scored the FFX demo along with it. Because i had not played the old skool games before it was more-so the lure of a X demo that made me buy the game. I guess i was lucky because FFVI IS a fun game but hey. I know how you feel ^_^

hahahah I have done this on many occasions I brought Zone of the Enders just for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo (what I really wanted to play it) also I brought Unlimited Saga just for the bonus Final Fantasy X-2 video (what it was rare) But hey I did but DQ 8 because I wnated it and hey you guys are lucky us Ukers did'nt get no FF XII demo

Ha ash 2k I almost got Zone of the Enders for the demo myself. My friend has DQ VIII with the demo. Looks real good.

Yeh my little brother wanted DQ VIII and i wanted the demo of FFXII so i got it and the funny thing is i ended up playing more DQ then my little brother did.
I was a bit skeptical at first but ive come to really apprecciate the freedom of movement Square Enix has given us.

Dragon Quest 8 is actually good? Shit. I bought it, played the FF12 demo, and got so hyped up on Final Fantasy that I just played 7 all over again.

Huh. Guess I should take a crack at DQ8.

Dragon Quest 8 is a decent game. It had great characters but did nothing with them whatsover. It also had a boring protagonist and antagonist.

Yeah the whole silent protagonist thing gets kind of old. Chrono Trigger pulled it off fairly well, and Chrono Cross to some extent, and of course Link is the ultimate silent hero, but I prefer my characters to have personality, thanks.

Dragon Quest VIII is really good. Try it, it might even subside your need for FFXII for the moment.

Hey, I liked Dragon Quest 8. I accidently broke the demo before I played it though. Poo for me. 8 was worth playing though, I recomend it.
