Her weapons are kinda uknown. Not exactly but I've seen a pic in my old game magazine of Penelo with a sword. But Im not sure if thats her initial weapon as seen in this clip. Seem's to be a spear or staff. More like a staff. And with her persona the weapon kind of suits her. The staff I mean..

In the latest pics on http://www.the-magicbox.com she is carrying a bow. Also I have seen plenty of the characters wield different weapons, Vaan for example carrying a sword in one picture and a gun in another...

So my theory is that it will be a bit like Final Fantasy VI at that point. The characters being compatible with different kinds of weaponry...

you know that would be such an original idea, and fun to experience but dont you think it would make the battle complexity go up? not that its 2 complicated but at the same time i would be more interesting to se stats change but it would be a hard program to write, hopefully we can look forard to those types of changes in future ff series

Sorry, I just didn't understand a word of what you just said...

This has been announced before, that characters most likely will be able to equip any kind of equipment. Of course there are some equipment that only certain characters can equip, but it even says on the official site ff12.com that fran is skilled with many weapons, but especially with the bow, if I remember correctly. Also on the ff12.com site you can see one picture of Fran with a gun, and another when she has a bow. I think this opens up a lot of possibilities and increases the playtime for this game. I know I am going to play it several times anyway, and then I will probably use a different weapon for each character

Any character can be equipped with any weapon class, but i'm not sure about the sword-and-gun combo Sir Kenneth was talking about though...

It does say in previews Penelo is a skilled dancer and martial artist, but it is unsure if this will translate into her fighting style. I'm guessing she'll start off with some kind of grappling gauntlets or gloves.

penelo has a kind of double-edged rod as a start weapon.

no she don't start with any rod

anyhow, her stats are more suitable for being a magician. so it's natural for anyone to let her equip rod/staff

she has a kind of long staff that she carries on her back and she is not a magician she is a dancer.
she does have a rod type of weapon to start as thats the first one on her licence board

the reson they all have different weapons is because of the licence board.
