Inventory | Does having more than one job make you able to use the attributes from the second job with your first? If I am a Monk Lv11 and a Black mage Lv4, can I use black magic when being a monk? What is the difference with the support job and at what level can I start to access this? Thank you, Andromeda

| Magically Delicous | Once you complete the Sub-Job quest (prerequisite: Level 18) in Selbina, you can do just like your question asked... use the abilities of another job. The only catch is that the sub-job is at max, half of the level of your current job. So if you are level 18 Monk, even if your Black Mage is 50, it will only be level 9 as a sub-job. That is actually one of the key things to building a good character in FFXI. For Monk, you should level Warrior and use that as your Sub-Job. In experience point party situations you can use this as a basic guideline: Never sub mage classes on a melee job and never sub melee classes on a mage job. There are a few situations where it is acceptable, but for regular experience point parties, you should try to stick to that guideline. A Monk has no Mana Points to start with. So, if you Sub Black Mage on it, you'll end up with a small amount of Mana Points and half-level spells. It'd basically be useless. Now if you sub Warrior, you can have stuff like Provoke and boosts to skills Monks already use. Same thing goes for mages. A White Mage subbing Warrior is silly in an experience point party. They should not be attacking monsters and their Mana Points will be lower than if they subbed Black Mage, for instance. Now, if you are soloing or doing other things, feel free to do whatever combo you want. Heck you can try to in experience point parties, but I really wouldn't recommend doing crazy stuff unless you know the people or ask ahead of time. Usually thru the Dunes, nobody cares too much about what your sub-job is, because a lot of new people are there. Once you go to Jeuno though, you'd be well advised to start watching your subjob choices. If you want more clues as to what people use for subjobs, do a search. Go into the main menu and go to Search. Then select whatever job you want and look at what people are subbing. Its a good way to see what are the most popular choices, if you are not sure. | ||||||||

Inventory | Does FFXI work on PS3? I was wondering this when I got my PS3 the other day. Cuz FFXI requires a PS2 harddrive to run, I didn't know if the PS3 one would work. If it did, I'd run out to buy FFXI and DSL link right this minuet!

| The Quiet One | Yes, Sony announced a few months back that they made FFXI compatible with the PS3. I'm not sure what you have to do. More than likely you just need to get the PS2 copy and install it to your HDD then be set. That should be all you need to do since everything else should be working out. | ||||||||

| I think I mentioned this before, to get subjobs the following conditions must be met: 1. You are lvl 18 2. Talk to the old man in Selbina, his name is Isacio, he is near the far right corner near the docks. 3. You must get the 3 Items: A. Magicked Skull: From Ghouls, they appear at night in Valkrum Dunes, you might need a party or high lvl help. B. Carb Apron: Dropped by Snipper Crabs, you'll need a party or high lvl help. There near the beachs and near shores in Valkrum Dunes. C. Damselfly Worm: These are dropped from Damselflys, there everywhere in Valkrum ( outside Selbina, and anywhere else in Valkrum) You might need a party or high lvl help. 4. Take all 3 of these items back to Isacio, and your mission is complete, you can now use subjobs. Go to the Nomad Moogle in Selbina and under Main Job you'll see Sub Job. Now you can lvl your sub. Hope this helps. | ||||||||||||

| Does what you can't. | When exactly are the Conquest Results tallied? I'm trying to recharge a ring, and the guy keeps saying it can only be recharged once per conquest results tally. But I'm pretty sure that I haven't recharged it for a few days -- I mean real days, not Vana'diel days --and I still can't. So i'm trying to find out exactly when they're tallied. | ||||||||

| The Quiet One | Sunday around 10am CST I think or roughly around there. That may be Japan midnight Monday or something, but it is generally Sunday morning for those in the North American territories. Most weekly things refresh at the same time on Sunday or are calculated on Sunday. Campaign does along with escort quests and the like. | ||||||||

| Does what you can't. | Damn, am I the only one asking stuff in here? Anyway, I just did a ... thing. I don't know what. But I got three pieces of equipment from it. All three have this: Enchantment: "Teleport" ([City] Chocobo Stables) I assume that if I equip one of those things, I will be able to use it to teleport to Bastok, San D'Oria, or Windurst. Would that be a correct assumption? How would I go about doing that? Or am I just a schmuck? Are they worth keeping, or should I try to sell them? | ||||||||
