How do you pronounce Tidus?

I realised that there is alot of controversy on the correct way to pronounce Tidus I pronounce it Tie-dus while as alot of people pronounce it Tee-das.

Just wanted to know your opinion on the matter. On KH1 it's pronounced Ree-das but on KH2 it's pronounce Tie-dus so I am confused :S

I go by what the trailer of FFX that is on the Spirits Within DVD and the narrator calls him Tee-dus. I don't even like the name Tie-dus, the name Tee-dus just sounds better in my opinion.

Well I've always called him Tie-dus, my friend got FFX before I did (in fact she got in 2001 or 2002 before there was any spoken evidence except maybe TSW). So since that day, I've used Tie-dus, and so has almost everybody I know.

And I wouldn't really call it a 'controversial issue'. It's just something that SQUARE-ENIX has to make their minds up about

Yeah I was over-reacting abit when I said it was controversial lol. And in reply to Loaf to be honest I have a completely opposite view and think Tee-das sounds a bit silly but aaaah well.

This isn't so controversial to me. If someone says "Tee-dus" or "Tie-dus," I'll know who they're talking about, so it's not too big a problem unless they try to correct me when I say it the second way. That's just how I read it the first time I bought the game, and it's too late for me to change that information in my head now.

It's kind of like how I'll always think of that other girl as "Aerith" instead of "Aeris."

I just go with what I think or hear first, then keep it as that forever.

I have always said Tie-Dus
His name sounds best that way, would you really call someone a 'Tee' like a Tshirt. Tdus sounds bad. Tiedus sounds better imo

My first pronunciation was Tee-dus. This was confirmed by Kingdom Hearts, so I felt relaxed with that. Then Kingdom Hearts II f***ed it up and said Tie-dus instead. So, now I', hoping Dissidia sets it straight.

I say Tie-dus because when I first played FFX, that's what came to mind. Some of my friends call his Tee-dus, but nobody minds the difference. This is kind of like the "Aeris"/"Aerith" issue. Some people say it some way, some don't. In the end, we're all talking about the same person (I hope).

You know King Midas? Although his name isn't "Midus" like Tidus' name, it still looks similar enough to be pronounced in the same kind of way. If "Midas" is pronounced (mye-dis) and not (mee-dis), surely "Tidus" is also not pronounced (tee-dis) but (tye-dis) instead.

I always called him 'Tie-dus', but on the bonus DVD you get with FFX, the guy who voice him says that his name is 'Tee-dus', and this is coming from Tidus himself! But I still say 'Tie-dus'.

Teedus just does not sound right to me. I've always called him Tiedus and it seems impossible to change. I don't know why they had to make it to where you can name him. His name being in cut scenes is more important to me than having his name customized.

I aLways pronouncing it as Tie-dus.. no matter what they say.. LoL! I Like the sound of it, it's Like, I'm saying tidaL.. ever since I pLayed it.. :-) Yes.. mostLy there have been much controversiaL about how to pronounce his name.. since they dub it with different pronounciation (FFX - bonus and kingdom hearts, I think aLso), square-enix shouLd cLear it, once and for aLL.. but.. I think.. that they changed the pronounciation based on the country where they reLease it..
