Most useless charector in combat

who do you think is the most useless charector when it comes to the battle system.

I think Kimahri was pretty useless. Everone else had a purpose it seemed. Yuna had awesome summons and white magic. Rikku could steal and use really cool items. Wakka was good at inflicting statuses. Lulu had great Black Magic. Auron had break attacks. Tidus had high speed and could cast hastaga. Really everyone is pretty much the same with the sphere grid maxed out though.

Hmm.. who was the most useless? I think I would have to say either Kimahri or Lulu. I barely used either of them. Lulu does come in handy but only against elemental enemies. Kimahri didn't do a lot, his overdrive was alright though. I just found he was weak and I just didn't need him in any battles. If I did use him, he was usually the healer. I didn't use Rikku that much either, I only used her for her overdrive really. Her overdrive rocks! I liked Kimahri but I just thought he was a useless character overall, even in the storyline. He was basically just Yuna's guardian.

I'll have to gree with Sailor_Moon on this one. It seems to me like Lulu and Kimarhi have been neglected during my recent play through the game. I've used Lulu only when i really needed her and Kimarhi...well never. It seem Square did plan that Kimarhi would be neglected as Biran and Yenke wer set very weak..in fact i think they are altered according to Kimarhi.

My vote for the most useless character from the cast in Final Fantasy X was Lulu. Her attacks were weak, and her spell casting wasn't useful either.

Lulu goes for me, too. I didn't like using magic at all, really. And when I really needed to, I got Rikku's magic up and used her instead so I didn't have to switch around all the time. Her physical attacks were weak, too.

Kimahri
the only good overdrive he has is Supernova, which he can learn from ultima weapon or omega weapon(don't know which one, the toughest of them)
and you only get it very very late in the game
for the rest Kimahri is just a copy of somebody else(in my case from Tidus because of the time magic)

Rikku is btw an excellent healer once she gets Al Bhed potions

I have to agree with Squall333 about Kimarhi being the most useless character in combat. The other characters had something useful about them (i.e. White Magic, Black Magic, Skills, etc.) and he was like the blue mage of the party in a way when his overdrive was full. I would've liked if Square would've made him an actual blue mage or a dragoon or something. I probably would be saying someone else then Kimarhi.

Lulu's a close second though. Her magic is really strong, but she's really weak physically. I don't know how many times she died in the beginning of the game, but it seemed like 3 or 4 hits would just K.O. her..

1. Kimahri: I don't know, spears just didn't do alot of damage and well you know he had endurance, but when it comes to magic, he was bland, when it came to attack he didn't do so well til he got the Legendary Weapon.

2. Wakka: I don't know whether it's hatred for him as much as it did me in. Wakka just didn't do anything good with the whole team effort. Like Kimahri, he had endurance, he was a little better on the attack, and overdrives, but like the magic was bland.

Kimahri, completely. He was always useless for me. I have tried starting new files and leveling him up, unfortunatly I always gave up on him because of his lack of skill. I think it was an interesting idea, however it didn't agree with the sphere grid.

Damn, a lot of people don't like Kihmari.

I, for one, think they are all useful in their own ways.
This is going totally by their own sections of the Sphere Grid:

Tidus - Fast, learns Haste/Hastega and some other useful skills.
Wakka - Good for casting status useful effects early in the game (blind, silence, etc...).
Lulu - Black Magic...'nuff said.
Yuna - Uh...duh...Aeons, and white magic.
Kihmari - I've always liked Blue Magic (or E-Skills, or whatever the game you're playing calls it)...he doesn't really get too many skills of his own.
Auron - Powerful piercing weapons, lots of HP, and the ability to lower enemy stats.
Rikku - 'Steal' and 'Use' are very usefull.

As for their overdrives:

Tidus - Easiest to do, causes good damage that hit all targets or multiple times (sometimes both with Slice & Dice).
Wakka - I didn't really like Blitzball, so I never got the Aurock Reels...Attack Reels are nice, though (didn't say I never play it, just don't play it enough).
Lulu - Hit up to nine times with any black magic...nice .
Yuna - Double Aeon overdrives are very handy .
Kihmari - Again, Blue Magic.
Auron - Actually, this is where Auron falls behind...oh well.
Rikku - THE POSSIBLITIES ARE ENDLESS!! (okay, not really, but there's a wide variety, not to mention Quaret Of 9).

Well, I think that there wasn't a completely useless character but I found both Kimahri and Riku the less useful ones.
Kimahri was strong at the begining but then Auron came and he was even stronger. However, Kimahri had some interesting Overdrives. The problem is that you had to use him in the battles to raise his Overdrive gauge. Also, Kimahri's Sphere Grid was really small so you had to move him to somebody's else. If you made a bad choice Kimahri would become completely useless. For example, imagine a character with low Magic and Strength stats, with not many HP.

As for Rikku, it was nice to have a character that could Steal items and use Grenades but without them Rikku does nothing. She is far from the strongest and without Magic spells she can't do much damage. However, Lulu despite having too low Strength she has high Magic power. Moreover, Yuna has the Aeons to Attack. That means that if you run out of Grenades Riku can't offer much help.

Uh...duh. That's why it's her role. That's like saying "Yuna without White Magic or Aeons is useless." Watever...

Anyway, I forgot to mention that even Seymour is useful, albeit only for one battle.

P.S. Quartet of 9...I think that's what it was called. It's a very usefull mixture Rikku can make that has one character do 9999 damage with their attacks. However, I meant to say 'Trio of 9999,' which has the same effect, but to all three present party battlers.

OMG!! why are so many people dogging out Kimahri ? Sure he doesn't do much if you never use him. In the beggining of the game fight with him a bunch and boom he's a really strong person.
The most useless person for me was Wakka. He attacked with a freaking ball for gods sake, plus his accent was terrible! He had many of the same skills as other players in the beginning.

I hate Wakka, to me he's the most useless character, the most useless element in FF X. Even when in Blitzball, Tidus & Brother are much better blitz-players.

Anyways, i don't only think he's the useless one because i hate his guts & his face & his terrible accent; I actually like the fact that he's a character that can hit from afar without magic & i like most of his ball weapons.

At first, when i couldn't get any party i wanted, i had to use him. Well the thing i didn't like about him was his overdrive. I used it very few times 'cause i couldn't grasp it, so him using an overdrive wasn't that much of a help when i needed it. The other players have better overdrives, even Rikku does.

I like the fact that he can be used underwater, but i didn't know that back then & when fighting Geosgianeo (or somethin') i had a party of one; Tidus. I wasn't using Rikku or Wakka, so they were weak, so they fainted right away, so Tidus fought alone.

seriously, kimahri was one of my strongest, in fact he dealt the most damage with physical attacks next to auron. I liked kimahri and his ability to go to anyones sphere grid. I think that was a big hit for the game.

wakka is in fact a stronger fighter then Tidus as you advance him, in the beginning he falls behind, but at the end he can do more damage then Tidus could ever dream of

and a small suggestion, use all your characters in all battles rather then using just 3 and leaving the others out of it...

i would love to see what you would do if you terribly needed that certain silence of darkness...
saved my life more then just once you know...

or when there is a flying monster that is evading all your physical attacks and making all your magical attacks cause low damage

sure you can throw an item with Rikku
but items can be used for much better things such as costumization and improving Aeons

Fellow FFX Gamers:

I find Rikku's MIX Overdirve to be totally useless. The highest I ever got her to score was around 37,000 damage and that was one time. I have the OS Guide and tried the formulae in the big chart that came with it quite extensively. I did them both with GODHAND equiped and with my own hand crafted customized BDL weapon with One MP, Magic Boost, Master Thief, and Break Damage Limit on it. I got about the same results with each. The only thing is that maybe I overlooked something to power her up more. Even Lulu's stupid little stuffed animals get 99,000 damage so why is Rikku's overdrive so feeble? She does score 99,000 damage with GODHAND though so she isn't totally worthless but her overdrive wasn't worth all the code, tiome, & money to create it I dare say.
