Thread for people who completed the game 100%

I played it 5 times before getting 100% but that is only because I did not pull out a strategy guide until the 4 time because I wanted to see if I could get 100% on my own, unfortunately there are a few obsure points that unless you are some nickpicking freak that is in the obsure mindset to sleep in bed during each chapter you do not think about it and even if you did you might not know how you got it. So yeah, considering how open ended the game was it allowed to cut by things, so it is easy to forget things.

1st time I played to see the story and not get much, knowing that there were a few endings based on story %.
2nd time I played to see how much of the story % I could get, I got about 85% that time.
3rd time I played to get 100%, but only got like 92% I think.
4th time I got an online strategy guide, it got my like 98% and got annoyed because it forgot a few important details to get 100%.
5th time I bought the guide, because I was fed up with the online guide and got 100%.

On a sidenote, I played the first 4 times in a row, in about 2 weeks I think, maybe 3. The 5th time I played and stopped during the commsphere part, which I did not want to do for 2 hours, because I knew I had to watch them all in the event I missed something the last 4 times. Considering how long and boring it is to watch people walking around doing the same things you already saw, I did not really want to do it again. So I did not get through that for about 5 months.

But that said, I think that I played it 4 times back to back, I really did not even turned off the PS2 when I got the ending to take a break, I just started up a new game. I think that says how much I enjoyed the game. One of my personal favorites, not for story so much, but for just plain being a ton of fun to play, most fun I had playing a game, aside from DQVIII which is now the most fun I had playing a game, aside from getting corrupted data on it.

FFX2 really was good in gameplay and the story wasn't so much but it wasn't too bad either (Lenne and Shuyin).I think its time I whip out the online guide and actually use it this time.

it took me 3 times to get 100% and at the end of my second run i had 99% that made the last run quite boring oh well.

I played it once and then again, and then again. Im almost done playing it for almost the 16th time. I got the 100% I think 5 times already... I dont remember but you still get the perfect ending from 90 and above, so I decided not to put a lot on effort in getting the 100%.

Anyways im on 97% complete and can not figure out what to do to get 100%, although i refuse to go and use a walkthrough. xD im so stubborn. oh well back off to play it some more T_T.

I got 100% on my second run-through on the game....

First game I went it alone and got like 77%. Second time I used the Brady guide and got 100....

Probably couldnt have done it w/o the cheater book. Good Times.

I actually got it on my first try! I got the Brady guide right away, so just made sure I crossed my t's and dotted my i's. There was a point in the third chapter I messed up, your supposed to talk to Kimahri twice before you head up the mountain....well I only taked to him once and I didnt notice it until I was well into the commspheres -_- I saved in many different places so I just picked up where I left off right before Mt Gagazet.

I think the hardest thing about getting 100% on the first try is beating Trema in the Cloisters. Takes a little luck, perfect timing and a dash of cat nip though. It well worth it in my opinion to get 100% completion. A lot of people trash this game but I doubt they ever saw the extra seens. To simply put it, I think this one was of the most complete games Ive ever seen in both game play and story.

Personally I felt rather dissapointed with the 'final ending'.
Sure it was nice but for it I.
* Killed freaking Trema.
* Suffered Blitzball
* Had to master Sphere break*
* Was forced to repaly multiple times.
* Talk to the EXACT people.
* And side with the Youth league whom i despised.
Yeh I wanted more in the ending, as that game dissapointed me a lot.
No game should have that many recquirements for 100%. Suffice maybe a GTA game, but certainly not an FF game.

Thats true but this was a different type of FF game, much different than the atmosphere of FFX. It was light hearted and lets not forget the entire game and story was supposed to be from Yuna's perspective. Sure, there were things I didnt like in the game like the Commspheres and the sorry attempt at Blitzball but this was a sequel, not an independent FF game. Most of the game was dedicated to completing side quests and having fun with the game, which I think tied into the main storyline and the storyline of FFX very well. FFX-2 has its flaws but its still one of my favorites ^_^

so you did with a guide as well, so did, i was always mising something and i couldnt figure out what until i brought the guide! now i can beat that game 100% easily!

It took me 2 tries but my "Talented" friend took 1 shot.

I'm on my second runthrough and I'm at 80%...I need like a complete list of stuff you need...cause in my first game, wakka was all happy and named his kid and then in my second game I have no idea why but he didn't name his kid and I was like wtf cause in my first game I didn't do the gunners gauntlet and I went back and did it. =/

First time I got 100% I did it alone in 4 attempts then I borrowed my friends strat guide and got 89% first time and 100% second
