Shuyin and Lenne

I've been thinking about this, and i just can't figure out the reason that they used Yuna and Tidus look aliks for this game. Are they all related, or was it supposed to be some sort of reincarnation of them? I just don't get the reason of using these two characters. If someone has an answer to my question plase reply!!

well it actually does make sense since a) tidus never truly exisisted in ffx he was jus a shadow and in x-2 we saw the real tidus and lenne looks like yuna for the shadow of shuyin obviously was attracted to her because in zanarkand he had the real thing

Well I think that Yuna was because of her Songstress, but Lenne and Yuna are not very much...alike. I have been thinking, since the chapter 3(Guadosalam, Ormi, Leblanc or Logos room, I dont remember) when the old man appears and Yuna says that he was just a dream...then the man got and idea and me too, maybe Tidus was like a reincarnation of Shuyin, a dream, but I still dont know why the fayth choose Shuyin

well i reckon that since they chose jecht first to defeat sin he failed so they decided to get a young outrageous hot head who acts first and ask questions later

hm, i did find it kinda strange. i mean, now there are 3 ppl who look alike: tidus, chappu, and shuyin
anyways, lenne looks older then yuna imo. and they do look different, besides the outfit
shuyin has to look like tidus or else the whole story wouldnt have worked

yeah tahts right it wouldnt make sense but i like shuyin because of how much he cared for lenne he waited a thousand yrs to speak to her now that is better then tidus who was a lil ova dramatic

Just to add, Shuyins voice was done by the same voice actor as Tidus. And I thought he was quite good. So, it wasn't that Tidus had a bad voice actor it's that Tidus was meant sound like a whinger. Just pointing that out.

okay. just thought i'd put my two cents in. ^.^
maybe when jecht failed to stop sin, and thus became sin itself, the fayth thought it would be a good idea to get someone they knew would follow through with the plan. but, since shuyin's ghost was still in self-loathing over losing lenne and the whole dying bit, they couldn't get him to do it. i personally don't think shuyin was a bad guy at heart since he tried to do everything in his power to save lenne from a summoner's fate. maybe the fayth thought he wasn't all that bad either (since he mostly gets his bitterness from all those years after his death) and pulled the positive aspects from shuyin's personality and life, packaging them into another form, ie tidus, and shipping him out to sea so to speak. that's kinda like saying tidus and shuyin are in fact, the same person, just two different sides of him. tidus might represent the boyish innocence that was shuyin before her got all caught up with lenne and the war between bevelle and zanarkand. and, i doubt this has any significance at all but...
TIDUS = DREAM
both have five letters.
SHUYIN = SHADOW
both have six letters.
i thought i might point that out and see if anyone else picked up on it.
okay! moving on! lenne and yuna! well, the dress obviously was an emotional trigger for our doomed friend shuyin. yuna might possibly be either a reincarnation or a decendant of someone from lenne's family (because you're never really told if she's an only child or if she has any family.)
and finally, since krazii mentioned chappu, that i believe might be just coincidence. but, like the true nerd i am, i'll look into that one.

I always though of Tidus as a dream created from the opposition of Shuyin's emotions.

Shuyin is mature, focused, and dark. Tidus is young, random, and lighthearted. A yin and yang kind of thing.

Shuyin was pretty cool, and that's what matters.

I think they used Shuyin and Lenne to portray Yuna and Tidus's relationship.Lennes last words to Shuyin were "i love you" but he never heard them,and Yuna's last words were "i love you" as well and then tidus faded.Also Shuyin was protecting Lenne,he was her guardian,so was tidus with yuna.I think they just used them to help Yuna realize tidus is gone,and such but also it plays an important line to the story

i thought yuna looked like lenne or lenne looked like yuna was so shuyin could get mixed up about yuna and lenne and tidus was a dream from shuyin

It was a little strange but I think it was to make the story more interesting because

If Lenne did not looked like Yuna then Shuying would've never thought that she was Lenne and Yuna would've never started the trip with the Gullwings if Shuying didnt looked like Tidus

I don't think Yuna looks like Lenne, or Tidus looks like Shuiyun. They look completely different. But I think the reason why Yuna thinks she's looking at Tidus (when its really Shuiyun), and Shuiyun thinks he's talking to Lenne (when its really Yuna) simply because their judgements are clouded by their emotions and memories. I think both couples (Yuna/Tidus and Lenne/shuiyun) have unfinished stories, unspoken words. This, I think is the link between them. So, none of them could ever rest until they concluded their chapters.

OK Yuna doesn't really look like Lenne so much. As for Shuyin, they made him look like Tidus, so that Yuna would believe that Tidus was alive and went to search him. Anyway, it's a little confusing, but there is not a link between them. Both of the couples have common things, but that's all.
