Really by setting up the magic this way in X-2 it encouraged you to mash the attack button relentlessly and the worst part about it was that it usually worked (much like FFXII, in most cases many of the spells espcially the ones that inflicted status were rendered useless because of the fact that you would probably inflict more damage attacking than actually attempting magic). When magic becomes like this, what is the actual purpose of having it?
however... magic could do more damage in a single blow, my black mage could hit 1k a lot quicker then my warrior or dark knight for example..

mages are physically too weak anyway, so they have no purpose even if their damage is taken the same way as FFX' style...
and with physically too weak i mean defence and health stats...
whereas warriors, berserkers, alchemists and dark knights has more health, defence or both then any of the mages in the FF games(except FFX, where everybody is equal at max level)

I didn't mean having the mages attack, I meant not even bothering with their dresspheres and concentrating on attacking with a warrior class. I think you could do more damage is less time with three warriors than with three mages.

Of all the Final Fantasies, besides FF2 this was the worst one. It was too short. Way too girlie. The part near the end where you had to check up on all the locations from the airship was boring and too long drawn out. There was no blitzball. I am ashamed of myself for even getting so far into the game. I guess it was even worse than FF2 now that I think about it.

I didn't think it was too bad, I liked the battle system, it seemed more action paced, and comparing it to FFX's is just too hard. I think magic is more meant to be used vs things weak vs that element, though in the end, my party of a Dark Knight, Berserker and Warrior just tore stuff up. The game was way too easy, I don't think I had a game over once. However.. I did enjoy revisiting the world, I haven't really played FFX since its release and when I beat it, so checking out how things turned out was quite interesting.

The storyline was a okay and the battle system was awesome. I liked how it had an action edge to it and it was fast-paced and I like how you can learn a variety of abilities in different jobs, but the game was too fluffy for me and it could've been better in some ways. But its an okay game I guess you can say. Its somewhat a bad game, but its certainly not the worst of the bunch. I still stand with FFII being the worst FF game though.

Yeah, I also liked the jobs however the rate at which you accuired dress sphere and how fast you became good with them also was out of proportion (even if you stopped and grinded (I tried)). So I felt throughout the game I was being pelted with dresspheres only ending up to use maybe three of them, only stepping away from this mold when the game forced you to, I just got the dressphere and experimenting with it, or I needed their abilities for a boss fight (which ties in with the first reason). Not only is it unrewarding to train multiple dresspheres, but it is also impractical because most of them aren't particularly useful (the animal trainer dressphere was pretty useless and I couldn't see where I would ever need it in battle). So what's the point of creating so many dresspheres if they aren't going to use and are even ignored by the most open-minded gamer?

No.. Just... No.

The storyline sucked, the gameplay sucked more, the job system sucked beyond recovery...
I gave the game away for free 3-4 days after buying it for 100$..
It was even worse than FFX.

Oblivion FTW!!

Where the heck did you get the game that freakin' expensive?!!?!!? Usually new games cost $50 instead.

Arrow

to beat the game yes it was shorter, but to get alot of stuff you had to beat it a couple of times so it would end up being quite a bit longer. it was a good game though i liked the dress sphere idea and enjoyed the story.
