Dr. Kadowaki accent?

Assuming Dr.Kadowaki is a female, which accent do you think suits her ?
Or which accent do you hear when you read her parts?
British?
American?
Asian?

I'm going to have my friends try and do voice-overs for FF8 characters and want to know which accent do most people imagine her having.

I personally imagine her having a soft welcoming American voice. However, with a name like Dr.Kadowaki, I'm thinking that most people would hear an Asian accent. I don't know, thats why I'm asking. haha.

Well Dr.Kadowaki is indeed female, and she definatey does not look like she has an American accent, and I wouldn't really say she looks to have an Asian accent either so I went with British.

She's pretty hot for a game girl, so that + British accent sounds hot. Works for me

If she had an accent, it might be American. Note, that regardless of names, folks sound normal. Like my last name is irish, but I dont speak Gaelic. Almost all the characters seem American (besides Rinoa, black eyes freak me out), so she might have an American accent.

I personally just read her lines with a normal american dialect (it's only and accent if it's an inability to pronounce certain sounds and words) though with the name implying Japanese decent, she could most definitely have an Engrish accent.

I personally just portray her like someone such as Kelly Hu, who most definitely has her roots in China, but nonetheless speaks with a perfect American-english dialect. Just support it like that for any nay-sayers.

I'm with Chez. I don't think you guys are thinking about " Dr.Kadowaki " either.
Maybe you're mistaking her for Xu... or someone else. lol
Dr. Kadowaki is a fat older chick with corn-rolls in her head.

I'm now starting to lean more towards a homely British.. or soul-food American. Something that makes her seem like she has a big motherly heart.

For some reason I always picture Dr. Kadowaki as having a mixture between an American and British accent. I think either one seems to suit her best, even though her last name is Asian.

The name definately makes me think she's of Asian origin, so I went for an Asian accent, but now I'm not so sure and I'm starting to think she might have a British or American accent, or somewhere between the two (cos to be honest - that's not really that much difference between British and American's accent, I mean nobody speaks with a typical British or American accent anyway and there are lots of regions with different accents - like in England a Scouse accent sounds completely different to a Cockney accent). Actually, come to think of it I think Dr. Kadowaki would sound good with a Cockney accent - I know she doesn't speak with Cockent rhyming slang - but then few Cockneys do. So yeah, I really should've picked British.

Ironically, being English, I read everything in an English accent. The only time I read in another accent is if I am deliberatly doing another accent if i know where theyre from. As Stevie Boy said, theres regional accents too, but being from the south coast, I read in that accent. A Scottish Kadowaki would be cool though. I remember a Scottish nurse I had once, and she was the coolest!

Of course, Kadowaki definatly is an asian name, but she reminds me of a British dinnerlady.

I've never really thought about it to be honest but I voted american. I would say either american or british because when I read the subtitles when playing the game I didn't say any of the accents in my head in asian. I surprised more people have voted asian than american . . .
