Dr. Kadowaki accent?

Oh man, I thought I was the only one who thought about the minor characters accents!

I actually gave her a South African accent for some reason when I first played. I have no idea why or how this came to be though. I must just be an oddball.

On a side note I gave Irvine an Australian accent. At the very least trying to remember all the different accents for all the characters gave me a good laugh (and probably anyone within ear shot of my room).

I find that highly insulting LOL. I hope you didn't give him an Aussie accent because he wore a cowboy hat, boots and such. I can't stand him! He's a creep!

I'm only joking. If I had to choose an accent for him, it would be a southern accent because it would totally suit him in my opinion. I'm being stereotypic now!

I guess I'm dull when it comes to giving my characters accents because I don't. I just give them a boring, old voice that comes to my head at the time. It works for me just fine lol.

Maybe I should give the accents thing a go, it could be rather humorous imagining them all with heaps of different voices.

Whilst we are on the topic of Character voices, here are what I think the peoples voices are:
Squall -- Quiet guy. Your everyday avoidant dude.
Rinoa -- Persistent strong voice (considering she gets on Squalls nerves in the begining of the game)
Zell -- New York/Badass kinda voice.
Quistis -- French (I agree with the above dude)
Seifer -- Cocky. Let's leave it at that.
Selphie -- Valley girl/prep type
Irvine -- Cowboy/Country accent (naturally! look at how the dude dresses. Or maybe the smooth talking kinda dudes)
Laguna -- Fun loving type (im not sure how that'd sound, but it works)
Kiros -- Educated voice (pronouncing ALL the syllables)
Ward -- Gruff, rough, deep dude
Edea -- Soft, older ladies voice
Cid -- your average senile old man voice

Any suggestions/alterations/comments/boo-hooing, post. I got nothing better to do but read them.

Squall -- Emo voice, though deeper.
Rinoa -- Annoying voice
Zell -- Chickenwuss voice. (The kid in the playground the bullies beat up.)
Quistis -- French (I also agree with the above dude)
Seifer -- Cool, annoying to those he's against.
Selphie -- Loud
Irvine -- Western
Laguna -- Like mine.
Kiros -- African accent, deep one, not the whymsical one some have.
Ward -- Deep, then none.
Edea -- Motherly.
Cid -- Doctor Phil. voice.

That's how I saw them, not sure if that's how I saw them on my first playthrough though.

Wow, I must not be as creative because I don't really make up voices for my characters. I'm very slack. Anyway, if I ever did do that.. this is how I would do it.

Squall: Quiet but cold voice, he'd always have that tone where he doesn't give a damn about anything. Of course that would change after a while. I don't think of him as an emo either.

Zell: Very energetic and loud. He reminds me of one of those hyped up Jocks LOL. He makes his voice sound all tough even though he isn't always that way.

Rinoa: She would have a cute voice which would be filled with joy in my own opinion. I don't think her voice would be annoying at all..

Quistis: I don't see how you can get a French accent out of that but that's kind of an interesting thought. I would imagine her to have a very feminine voice but she would speak in big words all the time confusing everybody else lol, especially Zell.

Selphie: Bubbly and energetic voice for her, she'd probably scream a lot and have one of those really cute high pitched voices! I don't think you could have it any other way. Yes, she would probably be very loud as well.

Irvine: Arrogant sounding. I don't think I need to say anymore. I wouldn't say he had a Southern accent or anything either because that's being cliché. He would have a deep voice and would sound like a real pervert.

Laguna: He would probably be goofy sounding since he is a bit that way. He's awesome though and I'm sure he'd have a very awesome voice. He'd be loud but always happy sounding.

Ward: At first he would sound like Barry White LOL! Maybe not that deep but like that in a way. After a while he would sound like nothing due to losing his voice. He would sound very tough and strong. Don't get on the wrong side of him. Maybe he would sound like Lurch from the Addam's Family.

Kiros: I don't mean to be cliché for this one but he would sound African hahaha. He looks very African to me so he would have an accent like that, it would suit him. It would be a nice soft voice and intelligent sounding.

Edea: Well while she's evil her voice might be sort of deep sounding or just plain evil but when she's herself.. she would sound like a caring lady with a very friendly and charming tone.

Cid: Hahahahaha, I love the above response for Cid. Now that I imagine it, it would fit so well. Imagine Dr. Phil giving you a mission briefing, it would want to make you kill yourself. For me, Cid would sound like a jolly old chap who would be very polite and sweet. Maybe he would try to hit on the younger ladies as well.

Fujin: Quiet at times but randomly screams very loud at those single words she says. I believe her voice would be deeper sounding and scratchy. No, she would sound like the bus driver in South Park. That's it!

Raijin: He would have a stupid voice, he would sound very dumb. No others words can describe that lol.

Yeah, at first I gave her a southern accent. Then, I didn't think it suit her, so I changed it a sort of Jamaican accent. Then, I left it at that. It made me laugh a little, and I don't know why.
Yeah, Quistis seemed French, so I gave her a French accent.
Now...there was someone I gave a mofia accent to, but who was it? I have no idea why I did it. I was always hyper when I was playing that game.
I always make little accents. It's fun, but weird sometimes... Not to mention pointless when there are voice actors...

I don't really go based off of what names they have. I go based off of their appearance in the game. The Doctor, however.. I pictured her having some older granny-ish American or Asian voice. FF8 was made in Japan though, so if they were given voices, they'd probably all sound Japanese. Now, in the English version, that'd be harder to say.

I'd just say Kadowaki is an Asian but has a British Accent seeing as hiw she talks to the people on FF8, especially Squall. Also, seeng her by appearance and last name I would assume she's Asian but then again, the way she talks sounds more like a Engliand type of person, but I'll say British.

Here is my theory; since there are no voice overs in the game, her accent is the player's accent. People read with their inner voice. Inner voices sound suspiciously similar to that person's regular voice, and usually doesn't have an accent. I mean, if you're ricockulously weird, then your inner voice has a different accent. From my perspective, Dr. Kadowaski talks like she would if she were born in the Peg (Winnipeg).

Kadowaki is one of the few character's with an Asian name at all in FFVIII. Definitely an Asian accent.
