I'm stuck...helpies plizz?

Ok, before anyone does anything, I looked in the walkthrough, IT DOES NOT HELP. DO NOT GIVE ME LINKS TO WALKTHROUGHS.

Now, this is totally st00pid because it's a minor part of the game and I've played it before, but I can't remember what I did. This is just after you get out of the jail. You split up into two groups, hop in your cars, and head off. Selphie goes to missile base. THis is where I get stuck.

My car ran out of fuel way before I got to missile base, but I got there. Now they won't let me in. I've tried so many times that I've memorised the conversation. Basically, Selphie wants to get in, guard won't let her, Selphie says 'Up yours' and runs away.

So now what? I'm totally stucked-ed.

You need to be in the car to get in.

Did you save as soon as you left the D-District Prison? You should be able to make it on the fuel already in the car. I'm not sure...haven't played in a couple of months, but doesn't the car just move really slow when it has no fuel, like it moves half a foot at a time? Somebody else in another thread had mentioned that while trying to find the Tomb of the Unknown King.

So..the car's mega-far away, 'coz I didn't know where I was going the first time, so now do I just hop in and Get there in an hour or so? I could probably get there in minutes with the car fuelled..But I saved right before I left, so should I just restart?

Hey I will give you some simple advise my freind, just go buy some more fuel at a item shop and there ya go happy FFVIII expeirience. Oh shit I just noticed sorry for posting so late I hope you have'nt restarted yet oopsies.

I don't think you can get to any shops at this point in the game.

Yeah you can alls you gots ta dos is make your way up to Deling city and buy shit at the item shop. Just to be a nice guy this is the first chance you can get the Rinoa card just play Her father in his residents, he says he has rinoas card but rarely uses it, in order for him to use it you have to play a card game with him use your ifrit card and some weak cards so you will purposly lose he will then take the Ifrit card. After that he will start to use the Rinoa card just beat him and get it. You might be thinking damn I do not want to lose my Ifrit card, well do not worry you can get it back from the old Galbadia headmaster in you first visit to FH if you beat him at cards when he uses it of course.

Well, I don't know if I had any trouble with that... I think I did at one stage. I didn't know where the heck I was going the first time I played it and so I ran out of fuel on the way. I ended up driving one mile an hour all the way to the place where I was supposed to be going lol. Not a nice experience, it got very boring.

I am not sure why they haven't let you in. Did you drive through in the car? I don't think they let you in by just walking in. You probably have figured it out by now but oh well. Just trying to help!

I never had any trouble with that. And yes, walkthroughs DO help if you READ THEM.

Or at least the walkthrough I got anyway. >.>;
Maybe your walkthroughs were poorly written. =P

But seriously though, you have to be in the car to get in the base.
