Just because a guy likes pink and hotdogs, doesn't mean he is gay. My uncle has been married for five years with my aunt, and he likes the color pink and hotdogs. One of my best friends are gay and sure, maybe they like pink and hotdogs, but they are very "manly" I assure you. Just because a guys manly doesn't mean he can't be gay.

When I first played the game, I though he was gay also. The thing that made me think he was gay, was that tattoo on his face. Then the spiked blond hair and pretty boy face didn't make him look any less gayer. But I don't really know. He is a game character. If he was suppose to be gay, then whoever made the game would have made it known that Zell is gay. But if he is, then it would only be in the Japanese version. That goes for any of the games that Japan make with nude are sex related acts. Its kinda weird. But I dough there is anything about FF having anybody gay in them.

Wow. This whole thread consists of people completely stereotyping gay people and some even saying they wouldn't like the character if he was gay.

Zell is called a chicken wuss for a reason. It's to show that despite the tough act he is sensitive and kind of a wimp. Also, he runs like a girl to contrast with him being the wannabe 'tough guy'. YOU choose what his fave color is, as if it matters anyway. Zell was clearly holding on to Squall's leg in the prison.

The way I see it is he has a short fuse cause he cant come out of the closet. The Hotdog thing, yeah, he's a little too fixated on it. I like hotdogs, but I dont cry when I cant have one. The way he always swings his arms and hands when he's upset is either indicating he a limp wristed panzy, or he has fits of epilepsy(no offense to any of you). The martial arts, yeah, an involved martial arts class will teach you grapples and he probably got a chubby come time for a training session.

Seems to me he was trying hard to find a partner, yet "somehow" not sparking the idea in women. That's so typically homo in my eyes.

If Zell is not gay, than come up with a better explanation for his behavior than: he's just "word that describes what we are trying to explain in the first place and thus doesn't add anything" or "he's not gaaaaaay!, lol omg, OMG!!!, omg..."

In real world he wouldn't have to say he's gay to be one, similarly, I think he was pretty much an emulation of a real gay guy.

Either that or the authors took a gay guy to model Zell's behavior after and didn't frickin know it.

Please be less homophobic people, because you can't change people, especially their interests (especially by being douches or mean).

The only openly gay character that I know of in the FF games is Mukki from Final Fantasy VII. He's the guy that you come across at the Honeybee Inn.
