.... Well in any case, I thought the draw system was kinda cool. As in previous statements, you don't have to worry about running out of magic really fast. It's convinient that you can also easily refine magic when you learn certain GF abilities like Forbidden Mag RF or Recovery/Life Mag RF. The downside to a part of this system is the limited types of magic you could use for any single character. There's more than 70+ types of magic in the game and your character can only hold 32 different types and there isn't an easy way to switch magic, if all your characters are filled up. It's neat to see what magic is the best together in a certain stat.
When you deal with MP, there is a limited to how much magic you can use. So to sum it all up, I'm going to go with draw magic just because there is more freedom and flexability with the draw system than the reused MP system for most FF games. |

I would go with the draw system. Although you can use various items to increase or replenish MP levels i just prefer the draw system. You can junction the magic you find. You don't need to wait till you are a certain level before you can use a type of magic.

The drawing magic was a little annoying but it was a good concept. The junction system was great but could've used some improvements. If you used enough magic your stats would go down but that was the major flaw of the entire draw system, in my opinion. If they could've changed it so that each time you used magic you'd be affected more, then we'd be getting somewhere, slowly.

Drawing and stocking a fixed number of spells is integral to the gameplay of FF8 as you need to junction those spells to you stats in order to raise your characters. As the effect of such a junction is heightened by having more spells in stock the use of an MP system for magic was impossible for this game. Neither magic system is better imo, just different.

i rather use mp beecause you do not waste a turn when obtaining the magic and you get a unlimited supply of that magic wheres ff8 only you could use that magic 100 times before doing the draw option or using a abilty

well, despite likeing the junction system, i'd have to say i prefer the MP system. Because of the drawing system, i never realli used any of my rear magics other than triple and aura for teh boss battles. I also didnt spend hours drawing crap. I used the GF skills to make magics.

I prefer MP system...is classical system for using magic...you always can have full Mp but in draw system if you use magic you have to find way to get those back...well, if you don't want to collect any magic you can only use it in Draw system...but I prefer still MP system...

Mp system is a lot better because then characters cast their own magic and not the magic that they got from the monsters. That gives much more personality to the characters. And for me it was always much more fut to learn a new magic then to draw a new magic.

I agree that the Junctioning system was the best system Square had thought up of in Final Fantasy VIII. Even though spells were limited to use because they were junctioned you didnt tend to use them spells but some of the best magic had the best increase when juctioning like Full-Life and Curaga which people tended to use the most.
I do like the MP System though, i do hope it doesn't die because its an originality which has always stayed with the game. The materia ssytem was perfect along with MP |

I would go with mp.It's easier to handle then you don't have to worry about running out of spells and where to find more.Deffinately mp,all you need is a potion if your low on mp.
