The Best possible spot to level up in FFVIII??

Yeah but Odin appears randomly. He hardly ever appears when I play the game lol. I don't go to the Island Closest to Hell unless I have 'Encounter None'. If I don't, I'll encounter a Malboro and normally end up dying. I just fly around to different places and level up. Esthar is probably an alright place to gain some levels.

I'll have to try that technique for myself next time. The 'not gaining levels' thing lol. Sounds like a really good idea. It must make the game a lot easier.

Well it depends how far you are in the game. But if you're towards the end and have an airship available to you then I recomend the island closest to hell and heaven. The bad guys there are tough so be prepared to possibly die. It's easy to die if you're not paying attention or if you screw up.

Odin seems to come out a lot for me, usually once every 3-5 fights actually making getting lvls quite easy even though gaining lvls in VIII is pointless.

Yeah levelling doesn't really matter that much, considering the boss battles are concurrent with whatever level you are as well.

That being said, when I was wanting to level up I'd go to The Island Closest to Heaven/Hell and the Cactaur Island. Slippery little suckers, but good experience.

Also, bad breath was the bane of my existance. grrrrrr....

You get a lot of experience from those hockey players in galbadia garden but do this when you first get to galbadia garden. This is what I did when I chose the optional battle against cereberous. Otherwise the T-Rexasaur and any monster in Ultimacia's castle is worth a challenge.

I just equip Squall 100 Death to Stats Atk and he'll kill almost any enemy with one hit almost all the time

Screw the EXP. if I want to level up, i'd rather level up the AP by going to cactaur island where all the Cactaurs are. They substain 10 or 20 AP a piece and they don't require alot of damage to kill. If you want to be precise in trying to hit those slippery little suckers I suggest junctioning Double or Triple to Hit %. But as the others before had said you should probably go to the island closest to Hell for the EXP. I'd rather get AP for the nice abilities some GFs give to you.

close to winhill there are mountans on the other side away from winhill there is a peice cut away from the mountains just go in there deep enough there you should meet 3 monsters named lefty righty and some wierd name. depending on how u batle if u use gfs u will get around 500 exp if you dont use them much around 900+ exp.

I did this and it is a great place to train, good for drawing magic and level building. I would certainly recommend this as a spot for training.

The cratures you are referring to are Lefty, Righty and Vysage. They can also be found in the Esthar Salt Lake, near where you fight Abadon. As I said before, my recommendation is to level everyone up but Squall... *Refers To Earlier Post* It does work.

Yea, cuz if you don't, Squall will be like level 60 and everyone else will be in the 30's and 40's... suck-age...

Dude for real I did sort of the same thing I have Death 100 to Zell and Squall with Pain 100 good stats magic beacuse It dose so much I would recomend fighting in the Deep Sea Reaserch Center.

you really shouldn't have to level up that high. You should just equip good magic to your stats. For example Ultima, Holy, Flare, Meteor, Triple, and others. You should be able to find most of these on The islands closest to heaven and hell.
