What they could have fixed in FFVIII to make it a better game with a better story

just want to get some opinions what you may think they could have changed in FFVIII to make the game better and most importantly the story better. Although the game was great i also know to some people they felt it was a big faliure. Although with myself i very much enjoyed the game for its unique difference to many of the past games square has made for the final fantasy series, but what do you think in your opinion they could have changed to make the game where more of the audience would aprove and love!?

Well I know a few people who disliked the Junction system in the game. I guess they could have made it a bit less complicated so that people could understand to use it better. It was difficult for me at first but I got used to it. Besides that, I don't think anything else really needs to be fixed. I loved the game the way it is! It's definitely my favourite from the series.

I'am actually in strong belief that there was nothing wrong with the Junction system. I was able to pick it up real quick. I think most people just wanted another Materia system. -_-

But if one thing could truly make this game better than it already is... then I suppose they could reference somewhere in the game that Rinoa is or is not Ultimecia in th future. I would only want this so that the look alike thread, which I have seen on plenty of forums, would either stop or come in compplete agreement wether she was or wasn't

I honestly don't see what was so hard about the junction system. It's really quite simple in my opinion. You just junction a type of magic to a stat. The more powerful the magic, the more it adds to that stat.

=/

Anyway, I'm not sure what they could have done to it, but I definately think it has one of the better and more original storylines.

I think it would be great if there could be more weapons.....but actually the game is great...for me the best ever......the story is original and more realistic than others....(you play only for humans...not animals) :-)

i also thought that the junction system was great, and wasnt hard to learn at all, i really liked the game for its uniqueness and how the many GF's you obtaine mold your characters into amazing fighters, therefor in my eyes i saw that weapons were not much needed in the game and i even saw Gil pretty much useless in most aspects besides a few things here and there. I also liked how they had the seeD rank paycheck every so often. In every aspect i felt the game was very different from anything i have played but in a very positive and fun way. Playing RPG's that are always so similar can get quiet boring if i may say so myself... so bottomline is FFVIII did great. (i also found that the sorceress was a great villain for the game, and again thats different from the others aswell)

Well I liked the junction system. It was easy to learn and all it takes is patience. I figure if you can take the time to get through the game then you can take the time to learn and use the system well. But to stay on track I didn't find any problems with the game, I mean it takes a long time to beat but I like that because it's much more memorable that way.

I quite enjoyed FFVIII, and I don't think there is much more they could of done to make it better. Like they could of made a Fighting Arena or something but they did that with FFX. The only thing that has always bothered me in all games was the random factor, not a huge thing on FFVIII but it gets me in some games. An extra boss or something would off been nice too as Omega Weapon was a bit too easy, but again FFX....

As for the story I thought it was nothing special but still good, I think a lot of people were expecting FFVII with Squall and his Companians. I mean there isn't really much else that could be added, perhaps a bit more a bout the Orphanage I dont know.

I had a horrible time with the Junction System, but, finally, with the patient help from members of another forum, I got it, I don't think the system is bad.
But, the magic drawing/ refining can be a pain, really.

The money system, can be a pain in the early game, too, I understand that students aren't suppose to have that much cash with them, but, I found myself constantly pinching pennies, I would rather not have to do that in a fantasy game

Please, please, get that stupid train track that divides the oceans in two out of there, because, navigating in the incredibly slow Garden AND having to take the long way around the continents to get anywhere, because of the tracks?, argh!.

Since I had tried to finish the game three times, already, I can't really say much about the music or the story in general, however, from personal experience, I can say that the story could have been presented a little bit different.
I don't know, at a faster pace, or something, I don't get the sense that I'm doing anything big, really, it all seems rather... trivial, there are these big world-wide conflicts going on, a villain is on the lose, but, it doesn't feel that way to me.
You have the world being saved by high-school students in uniform and resistances and political coups lead by, of all people, girls like Rinoa, who seems to be a little bit childish and spoiled.
You have a whole academy that specializes in mercenary style elite soldiers that is run by an adult that is constantly unavailable and leaving important affairs to be resolved by a student: "I don't knooow, you fix it, Squall!", frankly, I understand Squall's vexation with this particular matter.
Don't get me started on the whole orphanatory big spoiler, I mean what is THAT about?.
Squall's transition from "I don't care if you die" to "I LOVE YOU" in seconds is hardly believable, as well.

This, from what I remember from last year's attempt to finish it.
This last time, I was supposed to go find Ellone, I suppose it was, I got into my slow Garden and I wonder if it was really that important a task, since nothing did seem to be happening in that world and I quit.

No offense to Rinoa lovers, high-shools students or FF VIII enthusiasts, really, just my opinion.

The game was to short, the seed money could have have been handled better then just earning it from paychecks, and instead of finding monsters to steal items from for weapons they should have a shop that sells weapons like the other final fantasies. If they would have made the story longer it probarly would have become the best at least in my opinion.

This game has a few pitfalls. The Orphanage thing seemed a little farfetched to me as well as the GFs giving Memory Problems. The first time I beat the game, I was over level 65. Then, I beat the game at level 20 -something. The lower the level, the easier it gets because of the high level magic available later in the game. I think the leveling system could have been done WAY better! I don't like having to go threw my characters -individualy at that!- and keep changing magic. Speaking of which, the magic was way too unorganized! I don't have any problem at all with the GFs. Just set the next ability to learn, and that's it.

So, other than Character Maintanence, I thought the game was very good.
