I think its better becasue its not jsut one person summoning themm...you can set them to differnet ppl and you can use them with whoemever..

I realy liked them, they were a lot of help during battles and up to disc 3 I relyed on them in battle. That is until I got good limit breaks My favorite are Shiva, Eden, Siren... I guess they are all good!

I loved GF's. Especially Bahamut. Always good to have them for a quick fight. ^^.

I still used Eden and Bahamut even when I got the Limit Breaks (eg. Lionheart, Shockwave Pulsar etc.)

I loved the GF in VIII. I liked how different GFs changes the status and abilities of your characters. The only problem is it made me only level up 3 characters and never use the others.

The system is quite different from what I used to but it is still fun..My favorite is Shiva and I liked Odin and Gilgamesh too, because they really helped out during tough fights.

Yeah.. I Like how the Gfs worked.. they're very usefuL in battLe especiaLLy for the boss fight if you're like in LvL. 30 beLow.. and their abiLities reaLLy heLp your character without them you won't reach your HP 9999..

who doesnt like the gf's? from shiva and Quezacotl to Eden. and the sidequest to get them were fun. On time i got odin to appear like 3 or 4times in a row in a span of like 5 mins. gave me a good laugh. =]

All the GF`s are great, I used them throughout the whole game even when it wasn`t necessary, I found them to be a great break in the running backwards and forwards attacking each other, plus they are all good to watch. They do certainly have their advantages in the early stages of the game. My favourites are Shiva, Diablos & Leviathan.
