im having major trouble defeating sorceress adel can anyone offer me any advice?

Hmm...some tips...

Draw-Cast Regen on Rinoa. (You draw the Regen from her)
Don't use any GFs/Attacks/Limit Breaks that hit more than one enemy.
I'm not sure if Meltdown works on her but try it and it works, you'll do a lot more damage.
If you have Zell in your party, have him use his Limit Break.
Always have a character standing by to heal since she has some powerful magic.

That's all I can think of.

I had a lot of trouble defeating Sorceress Adel. I read on a walkthrough that you can use Renzokuken on Adel without Rinoa getting hurt. I tried it and fortunately Squall used Lionheart and the game continued. I didn't get how that worked because you are not suppose to hurt Rinoa. That was how I defeated her. I couldn't defeat her otherwise so I simply tried that and it worked.

Well I beat the game 2 times. The first time it was hard and took about 40 minutes, I had a horrible team. My second time through I had an awesome team. I found that the best way to beat him is to have Zell do his limitbreak, while Quistis heals and Squall just does his normal attacks. I hope that at least helps a bit.

Hey, that's cool.

Hope you get to defeat Adel soon. I know she's pretty difficult. It took me around thirty or so times the first time I played Final Fantasy VIII.
It got annoying after a while. It's difficult to keep Rinoa alive most of the time. Keep trying and you'll eventually get it.

That will be because Lionheart only hits one enemy. You've got to be careful using Renzokuken though, since he might use Fated Circle or Blasting Zone and they both hit all enemies.

I was stuck on that boss more than ever.

YOU HAVE TO DEFEAT JUMBO CACTUAR!!!!!!!!!!!
He is dancing on the world map on a random island.
Unfortunatly, you are screwed because you can`t go back there.
It is worth playing through again.

Once you get Jumbo Cactuar, automatically equip the GF, Cactuar, to Squall. Don`t even think about fighting Adel until Squall learns an ability called "Kamakazi". After learning it, then have Squall use some limit breaks (DON`T USE FATED CIRCLE! THAT DAMAGES RINOA!)

If you do a little damage and then perform Kamakazi, you will do MASSIVE damage to Adel, but you will lose him for he remainder of the battle.

I also recommend in that battle after Adel.

You can try casting double or triple cast on squall or the other two and try casting Bio twice or three times to get the much damge to adel without hurting Rinoa, always triple cast Curaga to heal after every attack adel deals. Also triple cast Shell to lower her magical damage on you. And don't forget to heal Rinoa with Curaga if you decide to use to GF or if Adel sucks energy from her. As for limit breaks, cast Aura on all your characters to fasten their limits and have squall do the Renzouken attack without him using lionheart, also his fated Circle attack works well too. And don't forget to heal your party members and Rinoa (once and a while). I hope this helps you!

You want him to do Lionheart as it won't hurt Rinoa. Fated Circle, however, will.

Indeed but I seem to remember (its been years since I played) Shell and Protect on Rinoa. Belive that was the trick because then its just to strike hard even on both Rinoa and Adel.

If Fated Circle wasn't so powerful that it killed her.

Look, all you have to do is cast triple on Squall, triple cast Curaga on Rinoa,and as DarkVivi said cast Shell and Protect on her. So even if fated circle hits Rinoa she won't die!

Depends how much strength Squall has to be honest.

It's safer just not to use Fated Circle really (or even Renzokuken). There's more powerful limit breaks that will only hit Adel.
