What story line should Square make in the story in the next FF8?

Im afraid that if they make viii-2 that it will end up like x-2. I do not want it to happen!!!!

If the Rinoa-Ultimecia thing is true, it could make a loop of what happened in FF8.

Example of a time loop:

1. Ultemicia defeated gives powers to Edea

2. Edea mysteriously possesed by a force from the future

3. Edea released by force from future

4. Rinoa inherits Edeas powers, possesed and releases Adel

5. Time Compression begins

6. Ultimecia defeated, gives powers to Edea


You could sort of have it like that.

So maybe you could base it on an Ultimecia return to achieve Time Compression, with a whole new set of characters and the same world. Important characters like Squall and Rinoa could be the Heads of Balamb Garden, while Zell is like the Mayor of Balamb or something.

I have been thinking about sequels for FF's and having read Alek's post above, that possibly would be a good idea, however it's a bit extreme isn't it? And not only that, X-2 built on the story of X massively, there isn't that much you could do with VIII. So I'll behonest and say I'm against a VIII-2 unfortuantly

if they made a sequel, it should be all about ultimecia. like it could be something about her life before she decided to do time compression. maybe her timeline had major persecution of sorceresses and she goes ito hiding. maybe her knight could also be killed, so she goes back in time to bring a change in the world. it would be something if her real name wasn't ultimecia, but she takes the name on because of history books warning the world about her. this is totally my fic idea so it belongs to me =P

First thing how did this crazy rumor begin? 2nd I'm against the whole sequal idea. I'm currently working on Final Fantasy VIII (on the 4th disk) and in my opinion the game is really boring, and I really would hate to see a sequal of VIII. Besides I'm not much of a fan to sequals in games or movies.
