2 small Questions about Seifer! small spoiler!

On the first disc of Final Fantasy viii. It is revealed that Seifer is most likely dead. Then during the 2nd he reappears and has Squalls scar down 'is noggin! Why? Does he just wanna be like Squall? Does he think its cool?

So. I have 2 questions

Why's Seifer got the scar?

and....

Is the answer revealed later in the game?

Remember the introductory scene? Well, Squall and Seifer are battling with their gunblades. Seifer swipes his gunblade at squall, who is left awestruck, kneeling down to realise that blood is dripping from his face. Squall, in rage, rises and strikes Seifer back. As we all hear Squall has a scar down his forehead because this is his injury left by Seifer. Seifer has a scar too because of the reverse-strike from Squall. This is why Seifer has a scar aswell as Squall. Case closed.

Seifer doesnt want to be Squall since they're childhood enemies. It's like Seifer turning up with the same tattoo down his face as childhood bully-victim Zell. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

As for the answer appearing later in the game, no it doesnt. Most people do realise that both have scars from that one fateful battle. Don't worry though, i am not trying to patronise you.

What I've always wondered is why Seifer wasn't knocked out in the infirmary for hours like Squall and how come Quistis didn't shout at Squall for retaliating.

If you remember in Trabia there was a flashback and when Quistis and the others were in the beach Quistis said that he stood up as Squall's big sister when Ellone A.K.A. "Sis" went away and also Quistis liked Squall as in REALY like Squall

Thats a very gd point! I wouldnt shout at him.....Id w8 till hes better But anyway, I think Quistis didnt shout because really they were just training.

Yeah also Squall was kind of a wanna-be Seifer as much as I love Squall he did copy Seifer,when seifer chose the gunblade Squall did also,Squall admits that even tho he hates Seifer,he respects him and has learned alot over the years because of him.Id say they could become good friends

I don't remember this perfectly, but I'll give this a shot and hpe I get it right.

Squall was there and not Seifer probably because of the fire attack Sefer used. I think it was used before the scar blows were given but I don't quite remember.

Yeah Squall was hit with fire magic and was woozy,when he was getting up Seifer landed the blade across his face Squall got angry and then got up and nailed Seifer with his Blade across the face

I thought it was obvious at the end... They both have scars, just opposite sides. Both from the same battle. @_@

I like the way that Seifer and Squall both have scars but on different sides of their face. Did anyone notice this? I think it emphasises the contrast between the two characters
