I would definently have to go with Irvine I mean jeez he tries so hard with her and I thank she grew a strong liking to him later in the game. I also must not forget they are both happy go lucky and energetic. Since Selphie is bossy almost as if she wants to be a Domanitrix chick, and the fact that Irvine basically worships her it would work out just beautifuly, she wants someone to spoil her IMO.
Heres a possible situation between Selphie & Irvine Selphie-" (Looking serious and suductive) Irvine get over here on your knees and lick my **** now!" Irvine- (Says with a big smileing grin) " Yes Selphie my sexy Domanitrix goddess as you wish. Maybe thats a bit over the top who knows hehehe.

I'm more of a canon-pair fan when it comes to FFVIII so if it's really supposed to be a SelphiexIrvine pair, then I'm all up for it!
Honestly, at first, I really thought it would be a ZellxSelphie pair. But I have to say I was shocked to realize that Zell liked the pigtailed girl who liked him back...they never said her name, though... Anyway, I just know Selphie can tame Irvine into being hers only. Irvine's close to being tame already! ^^

Irvine, no question about it. During the story they made it seem like they were perfect for each other, so Irvine. And, like LostUtopian said, he does support her alot.
