The first time I played I gave:
Squall - Shiva, Quezacotl Zell- Ifrit Selphie- I never liked Selphie. She lacked the coolness to acquire a GF. She was my healer. I do believe I gave her Carbuncle later on though. I still assign the GFs the same way I did the first time. Worked well the first time, why mess with success? |

Ifrit went to Squall
Shiva went to Zell Quetzacotl went to Quistis/Selphie When I got Siren I tended to put her on Squall. In fact Squall had the most GF's for me.

You technicaly not a SeeD until Cid sends you to assist the Forest Owls, and by that time you have Siren and Diablos but If I only had Ifirit, Quezocotl, and Shiva then this would be my set up.
Squall Ifirit Zell Quezocotl Selphie Shiva but with the other GF's I would do this.... Squall Ifirit-Diablos Zell Quezacotl-Siren Selphie Shiva
