The hardest part so I've done so far is the fight against Adel. She's so annoying, that I can't beat her. Also, trying to beat Diablos with my characters at level 14/15 was hard and of course I didn't make it through the battle.

The thoughest and most annoying part was the stairs on the way to Ultima Weapon. Damn I hated that one.

When I finally got past those beasts...

First try: Meltdown - Aura - Renzokuken - Lionheart
Bye bye Ultima Weapon, whats that bro? Eden? OW SHIT I FORGOT!!!

Second Try (after an endless series of beasts): Ultima vaporised me...

3rd and last try (and again those same bloody beasts): Drawed Eden, Used a hero after casting Meltdown and Aura >>> Lionheart: So long sucker...

I believe that the hardest part in VIII is later on in the game. I think the whole part of the game where you can fight Omega Weaapon. He just goes on forever and the battle really feels like it's ages long. In the end I think that's the hardest part of the game.

The hardest part of FF VIII, was trying to acquire every card, specifically the cards only achievable through the Queen of Cards sidequest. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. (Or maybe I just suck at Triple Triad???) That "Random" rule always screwed me over...

Another hard part was simply just trying to stay awake during the whole Esthar part of the game. I mean, FF VIII's my fave FF, but I found this part terribly boring.

Actualy defeating Ellone, Laguna and Quistis was quite easy you just need to have the right cards and strategy. Anyway the hardest part I think was going to the cave of brothers without the "X" that shows you were you are man!!!!! It took me forever to get out of that cave without getting my rank decreased

I think Obel lake was more annoying than hard... All of and you basicly get nothing out of it.

Definately getting the items for Squalls Lionheart...why?
I don't know, but it took forever. That was annoying.
Nothing else is much trouble though.

I actually thought the Queen of Cards sidequest was the most tedious. Obel Lake wasn't that bad, and I loved the Shumi Village one. I thought the sidequests were all great, it made me feel like I was adventuring. I loved it.

The hardest battle in the whole series of Final Fantasy is Omega Weapon in FF VIII. I could not beat him, no way in hell, I ended up using The End, and I have every item in the game people. I have a fricken Pocketstation that I unlocked all the items with, and I still couldn't beat him.

Minimog rules!!

As far as storyline, I dunno, I can't really remember any significantly difficult parts, aside from the place where you fight Bahamut and Ultima Weapon. UW beat me the first time I went down. The monsters are challenging as well, but so are they on the Islands of Heaven and Hell too.

I thought the most difficult part of Final Fantasy VIII was the end battle with Ultimecia. I have no idea how many times it actually took me to finally defeat her. I didn't even bother with Omega Weapon because I knew I wouldn't be able to defeat it anyway. I think it took me 10 or so times to finally defeat Griever/Ultimecia. It got very frustrating after a few tries.

I was reading through this thread and I posted before that fighting Ultimecia was the most difficult part. There were also other parts of the game that were also quite hard to get through. Finding the Lunatic Pandora was one of them! I tried to run around finding the right place but I would keep getting lost. I think I found it the last time I played but I think it was just luck. One time I didn't even bother doing anything, I just stayed in the same spot lol. It also took me a couple times to get through the part in Timber and the train. The first time I played it, I mucked it up. Getting all the character cards was also difficult at times, I still haven't got them all!
