Genocide Unfolds, I Forgive All
|
Okay then, I was looking through this section of the forums only to realise one thing that was missing... A thread about CARDS! -- for me, FF8 cards was one of the highlights in the game. I've managed to have almost everyone -- except for the Chocobo cards, the Irvine card and the Kiros card. I do however know how to get these, I guess I just couldnt be bother XP ... yeah, lazy, huh, but whatever.
So everyone, what rule do you most hate? Who is the worst person (for rare cards) to play against? What is your favourite card? I personally hate the Random rule. It sucks so badly and when it's set to Random, I often have a chance of losing a card game. I think that the guy in space whom held the Alexander card was the hardest to beat. And my favourite card is most probably the Laguna card.

The random rule isn't so bad, it puts you on level ground with the opponent. Besides, when other rules come into play at later poinbts in the game, even without the random rule some cardgames can be just as hard, what with plus, same etc.
If I lose a card game I just reset anyway, so I'm not too bothered if I lose to the random rule ![]()

Wow, your lucky, I'm really short-tempered with FF8 cards, so I usually sit there yelling and swearing at the screen. ^_^;;; ... I mean, I -try- not to lose my cool with it, but its like playing against Martine... I almost ripped my hair out in the frustation I got from that... -_-;;...

A real easy, but cheap way to never lose cards: Find a save point, save, go play cards. if you win, save and continue, if you lose, reset. That's how I got 99 elnoyle cards from Zell's mom at the beginning of the game. YAY CHEATING!
Anyway, the random rule kinda sucks at first, but later, when you get all the really good cards, like Character cards (Which I got only Seifer, Edea, Zell of) then mod all you other cards, so you only have leve 8, 9, and 10 cards. There, problem solved. AOD out. |

Yeah I did the same as you AOD. I just modded them. At the end I end up modding all my cards. Just to get the cool items for GF abilities and stuff.
The hardest person? I'm not sure I found that you can loose to anyone depending on the rules. My fave card? Most deffinitely Irvine. Just cause he's my favorite character. |

Heh...you say only the Random rule is bad? Then how about Random AND Direct rules? Both of 'em get pretty fast on your rules bandwagon, but are hard to get rid of. And losing a card because somebody beat it and you didn't had a card to save it can be really frustrating... A good card player can benefit from the Direct rule, though.
My favorite cards are those with 2 A's, but specifically Edea. Almost nobody can beat her once you place it on the lower left side. And the toughest enemy? I dunno, since the right cards and the right rules made anybody easy to beat. Unless probably the Card Queen and King, perhaps... And, to add, I don't like to mod the cards...its more challenging to get the cool stuff by Mugging the right people. Or don't tell me that getting 1M+ Curse Spikes won't add gameplay time, as well as greater satisfaction when beating Omega. |

Sorry Chez. I never took the time to find them. I kicked everyne's ass with: Zell, Edea, Seifer, Eden, and Odin. It worked everytime. if you really want to rule the game, use the Brothers cards, and control the corners. It works great.

I like the Brothers. And Edea. They control the corner. Then I use cards with balanced attributes. My favorite opponent the Card King aka:
I mod the cards and then win them back from the dudes on the Raganork. The reason you didn't get the Irvine card was because you didn't do the Queen of Cards quest. I tell you that quest is uber hard. I'll leave that for you to figure out the quest. Even if you do cheat, it won't come from me.

Never really played the card game. Although I do want to play 8 again just to get all the cards.

The card game is pretty easy to understand... just make sure you practise playing against n00bs before you go rushing to get a uberly-super-dupa-amazing-thingy-bob card. (In other words, practise before you go for a rare card ^_^).
