Question Do you like FF8?

Yes or no, and say why. I've heard many people don't like this game. What's wrong with it?

As for me? I quite enjoyed this game! I like the GFs and Junction System. Even though sorting out the Magic Spells was a bit messy... The story line was all right. The battle system, however, kinda sucked. I half wish it was more like the one from FFX-2. Oh, well...

Anyways! Overall, it's not bad! I like it! What about you?

I loved FF8, it was one of the best games in the series. I don't care what the FF7 Fanboys and the FF8 bashers think, it was still a great game.

The storyline was great, the battle system was ok. I liked the junctioning system, it was kind of fun to see which magic made which stat the strongest. The characters were also ok. I didn't really have a problem with Squall's attitude, it wasn't as bad as Cloud's "I'm a badass" completely annoying attititude.

This is my favorite Final Fantasy Game. I love the junction system as well as the CG's. The battle system was awesome, and it was the first FF that I have ever played. The characters were great and they were all well done, cloud was a pansy bitch lol....and FF8 is one of the best.

I liked this game, though it was a bit easy at times. YOu could like get 1000hp straight away with that junctioning system. But, i guess i kinda liked that. But it's bad because you can never get your limit breaks, lol.

So overall, good game. ^_^

its ok, the only thing that puts the whole game down is the very boring talks and films that you have to sit through especially the beginning! Plus, you have to draw the magic from other people, i did not like that much!

FF8 is brilliant apart from some features, but the rest is cool, and it is one of the best games of final fantasy!

FF8 is the best FF game ever

Since it came out, I've played FF8 about 10 times(all the way through), not to mention every other FF game out there except the new Crystal Chronicles and Tactics advanced. And with that in mind, FF8 is my fav of all the FF games! I can't really say why I got so addicted to FF8's world, but it just seemed more immersive and real than the other FF games. I felt connected to the characters, where the other FF games had endearing characters for sure, there was just something special about FF8. I love FF8's soundtrack the best too! The junction system feels out of place at first, and cheap people could quite easily use GF's to decrease the difficulty, but for real FF players, those who look for different stategies constantly with combining magic, and abilities and everything else will find FF8 has much to offer. And nothing beats casting AURA on your characters and using limit breaks like MAD on your enemies.

It, like all ff games is a masterpiece. I wouldn't say that it was my favourite ff, or even in my top 5, but it was still a really awesome game. It's amazing how some people don't like it only because it was different from ff7, and people became fanatics about that game. So, all and all it's a good game, except for the drawing system (can't believe I missed carbuncle )

The game is underrated, which upsets me, as I love it. My fav all time FF, and the one which got me into the series.

The junctioning system is probably what put off alot of people. Admittedly, it WAS complicated, but once you sit town and take the time to work it out, it's simple, and not that much different from equipping armour to boost stats as you may do in an old school FF. Only difference here is that you're equipping magic or GFs as opposed to armour.

Yes the talking could be long, but the majority of it was good. Sometimes is dragged out, but a lot of the talking did have relevance to the main plot. Only tiem you can really find it boring is if you're plaing through for more than your first time.
Still, I've beaten the game four times now, and I can still sit through the dialogue and cutscenes nice and easily
Fair enough, there are some scenes that make me think "Egh, this bit again..." but hey, that happens.

I may be a little bias, because this was my first FF game ever. I really enjoyed it, although I have to say that it WAS a little too easy at times. But I got a lot of playing time out of it, trying to collect all the spells and get everyone up to level 100. The music was great, except for Eyes on Me . . . *ahem* I won't comment on that. This is one of my favorite FF games, and I really thought that it was the best until X came around. Still one of my favorites.

Yes, I have to agree with the person above me, this game was way underated. How could people be so excited over FFVII? (Which I thought was a piece of junk, by the way.)

Cloud Strife X takes classes from Quistis - (lv 2)
FF8 isn't a bad game. Actually, I kinda like it. But when I compare it to other games like FF6 or FF7, it falls short. Plus, it was too easy. (Maybe next time, I shouldn't Card Mod Bahamut's card for 100 Megalixirs... oh well...)

I actually liked the junctioning system, though, and I loved the story. FF8 is just as addicting as any other FF, but it's not my absolute favorite.

I think it's underrated as well, I really really like it a lot. The character's are very cool, the junctioning system is kind of cool. I like it more than FF7, which I think is the most overrated game in the series. It's probably my favorite of the second generation of Final Fantasy games (meaning all of the ones from 7 and on, the fancy graphics ones!)
