I like Zell the best because his character develops the most throughout the course of the game. He starts off just being this showy martial arts geezer with a short fuse, but eventually you realise that he's quite sensitive (get's upset when he thinks he's exposed garden) and quite smart too (various "know it all Zell" moments).

I liked Zell and sifer although they were never getting along but they both were cool so was Irvine.

(I had this post copied and stored from like 3 this afternoon... heh.)

La la la... necro-posting... or so I would assume someone did, since this thread was started in '03... wow, that's old school!

Anyway, my favorite character out of the poll was Irvine Kineas. I liked his cosmetics; he wore a cowboy hat and a trenchcoat, as well as a pair of those gloves without the fingers. I also liked his weapon the best. Guns are cool. I also liked his mannerisms, with the shrugging and such. He just looked and moved cool. He was kind of a funny character, too; I didn't mind when he tried being a pimp.

Basically, out of the main characters, he was the best choice I had. I don't know who I like better between Laguna and Irvine, however.

From all of the characters, I'll choose Rinoa because she reminds me of Tifa and Aeris from FF7. She looks like Tifa, and acts like Aeris, yay!

Come on people , give the guy a break. He didn't exactly have the easiest of lives. Everyone he loved just vanished ... he never really knew friendship from fear of losing it.

Squall was the coolest character by far at the begining of the game but after the whole save rinoa thing (beg. of Disk 3) i kinda drifted away. But he still kicks ass.

I agree, Zell is also funny the way he fights with Seifer all the time. And he talks to Squall show offy at times, but becomes a good friend

Hehe i like Seifer..just because of his battle stance and his attitude makes me laugh occasionally...
But, for a main party member, I like Squall because he was really..shy? in the beginning of the game..no not shy, more like protective of showing his emotions..then later in the game, He starts to show more and more emotion...I think it is cool how they developed him as a character..
