Squall?

Squall was actually based on the late River Pheonix so that could maybe explain his looks in terms of him looking like a girl, but anyway he's my favourite character from the whole seris. He's not cool, he doesn't talk alot but when he does it's dramatic, he's intelligent, even though he's got a lot on his plate he still manages to cope (with his freinds help of course ), he can't express his feeling's for Rinoa. These are things that make Squall such a great character, he isn't perfect, yes at times he's a total douche but as he would say "whatever" he's not Tidumbass at least.

Squall is one of my favourite characters from all final fantasy series. he is an amazing character. he reminds me a bit of myself. a lone wolf, inteligent.

I like Squally alot. I don't really consider him cold hearted as much as just distance. To me it just seemed like he lacked a bit of socialising skill..But I still liked him. He was strong, and he had a good weapon, and although he wasn't particularly social, he wasn't cruel.

Simply put, he's a cool guy, but he tried to stay away from everyone. Not too social, but secretly he doesn't wanna be alone.

I really liked him! He wasn't cold hearted; he was introverted and more of a thinker, a bit like me in that respect. Distanced himself from others so he wouldn't get hurt like when 'Sis' left. Basically, he was very strong on the outside, vulnerable emotionally and was scared of being alone. He put on a strong face and hid his true feeling so 1: he wouldn't be pitied and 2: so no-one could get close to him again.

i think squall was one of the better developed characters in the series.. he wwent from someone who didnt care about anything to being emotionally driven by his love of rinoa.. and in a completely realistic turn of events... the inner thought sections of his development let you in on his slow change.. squall was awesome..

Squall started out as some goth/emo but he became cool as the game progressed.

I think he made a far better main character than Vaan.

Squall: Pride. Der. Pride has ahold of him until he meets Rinoa. "I can't just run away..." is a direct and proving quote.

Irvine: Lust. We'll say no more about it.

Zell: Gluttony. Ever see that dude eat hot dogs?

Cid: Sloth. Talks big, but I havent seen him do much.

Quistis: Envy. She said herself that she basically wanted to be Ellone. Or in her place anyways. Like a bigger brother to Squall, but that got in the way of a few things.

Rinoa: Anger. Short fused-chick is the impression I got.

Ultimecia: Greed. She wants to be the only one in the universe. Greedy enough, I'd say, with a hint of Gluttony.

Squall is and will always be one of my top favorite FF main heroes. In the beginning I was like this guy is kinda...you know, whatever ^.^

But I easily found out that he kicks total ass again and again. And I fell in love with his attitude.

I haven't played VIII that much,but here goes.After FF VII & Cloud,Squall is what we call "tiny letters".I wouldn't consider him cool,but cold & distant.He's a mere duplicate of Cloud,with Square striving too hard to make him look cool whatsoever.He is strong & special,but every single main character is like that-nothing new about him.
The only thing that irritates me is his attitude when it comes to Rinoa.When a chick like her is melting about you,there's one thing to do:Go,go,go!!!

Squall is a very bad ass character. Sure hes an introverted guy but so am I and I am good hearted, he is just acts cold hearted because of his past involving losing sis and Matron and all that, he was really caring on the inside. He just needed to put an emotional gaurd on himself too try and prevent himself from getting attached too anyone else. He was afraid that if he did somthing might to make him loose them again I completely understand. His character developes alot and he turns into a sweetiepie at the end kinda.

He is also very beautiful in my opinion I love his hair! when I was only 14 years old FFVIII was my favorite game and Squall was my fav character and he was the one that inspired me too grow my hair long and I am 19 and Ill never cut it! oops off topic any way I love his outfit too And his badass Gunblade one of the best weapons ever!
