I have FF7 on my PC and enjoyed playing it but find the controls to be very poor. I know they can be customised, but has anyone had any luck in using a wired XBox 360 controller to play FF7?

My controller is configured correctly under Game Controllers and works fine in other games but I have been unable to get it working in FF7

I don't have a PSX controller and won't buy one, so don't bother suggeesting a PSX to USB adaptor.

Ok I've sorted it. A little Googling brought up a replacement driver for the XBox controller. It's called XBCD+ (Xbox Controller Driver +) and can be downloaded here

Installed this and FF7 started recognising the controller immediately. Kudos to the author of the driver.

If there is a way to do that...That'd be pretty awesome...But I have no idea if it is possible.

I know that it is possible to use a 360 wired controller for games on a PSX emulator, which is something that I have done before. If you're playing the PC version of FF7 (which I am assuming you are), then I don't know if you can map out all the keys or not, but I suggest giving it a try and seeing how it goes.

I remember I did something like this for WoW, I hooked up a 360 controller too control my warlock, it was loads of fun. Little confusing at first though.

Its just no fun playing games like this with a keyboard in my opinion
