I think Aerith would win because I like her better than Tifa. I mean you shouldn't underestimate aerith you never know she may just suprise you. Tifa, a whore, needs to get her @$$ kicked by someone. If nobody does, I'll do it myself, and have fun doing it.

let's do an example, just for the hell of it:
Aeris: (almost dead)- heals self (face it, it's the only thing she's good for)
Tifa: uses level 4 limit break, hits "yeah" on all 7 slots on the machine, aeris pwned.

That is a little exaggerated, Aeris isn't useless, just because she doesn't run around kicking people's ass. Tifa would kill Aeris, but I don't think it would be as much of an easy fight as some people think.

...is totally unjustified. She was meant to be a supportive character in battle, and just because she did not excel in dealing damage does not mean she is totally useless. She was very important in terms of the storyline, and even the materia from her mother that she tells Cloud is "useless" turns out to be Holy.

However, if you meant useless in terms of fighting in terms of dealing damage, then you're right but just because she can't deal a lot of damage doesn't mean that she couldn't possibly win. However, as I pointed out in my last post, it depends on use of limits/materia etc.

Also, she dies halfway through the game anyway so I guess they didn't want you wasting your time getting her to a high level and then all of a sudden you find that she is dead and all that level building was a bad idea.

Tifa would pretty much win for sure. If it was put in a part where they can't use items, summons, or magic... Aeris my have a chance *Lvl 4 Limit Break* making her invincible then freely attacking Tifa, but if Aeris's invincible stat goes off and Tifa is in her Limit Break, all I can say is, One-Hit K.O!

By the time Tifa is at her first part of the Limit Break, Aeris would be long gone dead and then Final Heaven would inceinerate her completely XD

Therefore, Tifa wins!

i suppose its down to materia and limits. though aerith is the better spellcaster, tifa is the better fighter.
tifa is most likely to win if they both have decent materia - i actually use tifa as one of my spellcasters coz she can dish out damage if she's low of mp. and he limits are awesome!

I would totally want Aeris to win because she's so much cooler. Tifa would probably win though because she's so much stronger physically and knows how to kick some ass while Aeris is mainly good with magic.

Whoever said Aeris is useless is wrong. She wasn't useless to me at all because she was very helpful with healing and such. I'm not really a big fan of Tifa, I always have thought that Aeris was a better character. I wish she didn't die in the game because that sucked.

Anyway yeah, Tifa would win overall because she's very powerful.

okay didn't read all your comments so i don't know if this has cropped up but erm yeh jus an outside observation here.... aeris is dead.
so the possibilties are:
Tifa realises this and assumes she won already.
Tifa fights aeris for ages and ages and ages until passing out from exhaustion and its a draw because both people are out.
The only winner would be tifa or else no one. (oh and second scenario don't you all agree when tifa passes out cloud n reno team up n do stuff to the both of them? i mean theres times in ff7ac when ur thinking ok tifas unconcious what is cloud or the turks done to her hmmm?

i dont think that thisis much of a contest. I think Tifa would win since she is a fighter while Aeris is more of a healer. Plus Tifa's llimit breaks actually hurts hers opponents.

Tifa would. Aeris may be a fighter when she has to be, but she's not built for it really. I mean she could hold her own yes...but hey look at what happened to her. I figure Tifa uses her fists and still can bring the pain when it's called for. Aeris is a good healer, but aside from that she's not the type I'd want in the front lines like compared to Tifa.

Tifa FTW! Yeah I know, everyone pretty much has said Tifa, but there's good reason. As was said before Aeris is no real powerful fighter. She heals, and she heals well. Unless Tifa was in a zombified state and Aeris then did her healing spell thing, Tifa for sure. And then as mentioned earlier, there is the fact that Aeris is a little living impaired.
So, definetely Tifa.
