The Guide to Ruby Weapon

Hey guys I was browsing through forums and noticed most of you dont know how to beat ruby weapon lol. I hate to say it but you guys are thinking way to hard with your crazy materia combos over there.

First thing to adress. Ruby's quicksand eliminates party members. Now sometimes this is a problem ebcause you lose valuable materia and combos when he quicksands members. Let me tell you that you only need 1 character to beat ruby!!!!Come into the battle with 2 characters dead! trust me. Ruby cant quicksand your third character. now you know exactly which character you will use for the fight, so plan accordingly.

The plan.
Its simple really. 3 materia is all you need to kill him. KotR linked with mp absorb and then hades. pile high the rest of your slots with hp plus mp plus speed plus magic plus ect. you can also use hp><mp materia instead of the mp absorb. Just make sure your quick.

Getting away with murder
1. cast hades. this will stun ruby. He wont be able to attack
2. cast KotR. Since he is stunned he cannot counter.
3. Rinse and repeat.

Tips and tricks
-make sure to recast hades after every KotR. He might become un-stunned inbetween the first and second KotR.
-Final attack revive is a good safety measure.
-dont use final attack pheonix, he absorbs fire.
- magic counter cure is also a good combo, dont use fullcure, it wastes so much mp you might get mp screwed.
-If you dont ahve ribbon use white cape because if his tentacles do hit you, you will be a frog and you wont be able to use magic.

Here's what I don't understand.

People come here to our forum looking for help, and other members always direct them elsewhere. This is a gaming forum, and we're supposed to be helpful to other members of the community. And what ALWAYS happens, almost every single time? "Go to gamefaqs."

Yeah. No. I think the information is helpful, even if it isn't "necessary" to have around. And all you've done here is spam, and I'm getting tired of it.

Because gamefaqs probably already has this idea to defeating Ruby and other various information most people use everyday. What's so hard to understand? I wasn't slapping the guy over the head, goddamn. Hell, you guys SHOULD have a direct link to gamefaqs in the gaming section considering it's probably one of the most highly used place for guides, cheats, and the like. Yeah, that was total spam /sarcasm

I actually did not know about the Hades trick, so it was helpful in case I ever decide to fight Ruby again. Also, sometimes it's difficult to find a good strategy at gamefaqs, because honestly some of the people who have guides posted there do not know the best ways to do things. So I appreciate tricks like this.

i agree with DT, because i tried to post my own way to defeat Ruby, an all u ppl did was degrade me completely. ppl can put wat THEY want on this forum. it's not about wat u ppl like!!!

Well, don't get me wrong, I can agree with Piroblaze for closing your thread because there's no point in having two of the same topics. You could have just posted your strat in this thread rather than starting a new thread with the same title about the same thing.

Spoiler: LOCOCOLT04 attacks, Takes 200 damage Griffith attacks, misses LOCOCOLT04 uses KOTR, takes 40,000 damage LOCOCOLT04 has defeated and OWNED Griffith.

I tried this strategy and amazingly it works....unlike on most forums. Thanks!

yea ur right. to tell the truth, i didnt even look to see if there was one posted already. sorry!!

hmmm there are so many ways to beat the weapons you didnt include the way to kill him with only omnislash ... and the other way with out summons or limits ... and the final one how to kill it by 8 or so turns with ungramax ...
