Cool

that is really an idiotic thing to do, if you see a movie that you don't know if it is good or not just rent it. there are plenty of rental stores out there. but hey, we have no room to talk, remember those emulators and roms? those are illegal too.

^Well I figure people didn't rent it becasue......THEY COULDN'T. If you read the other posts, you would have quickly realised that most of the people downloaded the movie because they were sick and tired of waiting, and with all the delays, it's not surprising to understand why they would feel that way.

But I believe that Square is neglecting one thing in their big plan to stop piracy (which is impossible might I add). It's usually (not always) the casual viewer that downloads the shit from the internet. Any true die hard fan will buy the damn original DVD anyways because they want all the extras, bragging rights to say they have the original, to expand their Final Fantasy collection further, etc. I guarantee that lots of the people who downloaded the movie out of frustration will also eventually buy the thing.....it's just a matter of time.

1=1,000

For every one person that gets caught & sued by SE they probably make a few thousand. So one uploader sued probably makes enough to cover the illegal copies of 1,000 other people.

I believe there is a place for torrents/illegal downloads in some cases, hugely debatable and personal I know. I downloaded Advent Children before it was released here in Australia and thanks to the torrent the producers are now richer becuase of it. I own the DVD and the PSP UMD. I probably wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't seen it before hand. Problem is for me at least Australia lags behind heavily in getting good games and movies here some times AC was one of them. I buy everything I like and am one of those that support p2p and torrents.

Maybe illegal yes, but if the game compaies don't produce the game anymore I don't see a problem with using roms with emulators. Now if Square/&Others would re-release everything they have ever made I'd buy them all at first instance. Roms maybe illegal but how else can you experience some of the finest gaming history has to offer otherwise? Buy second hand yeah, but that doesnt help the companies either.
