I've started FFVII again (hence the thread title), but feel I'm progressing faster than I did the first time i played it! I've arrived at the Golden Saucer and just got the "beach buggy" thing and am only at level 25 with cloud (~1040HP) (rest of characters are ~LVL.21). Do you think I should spend a few hours leveling up around the Golden Saucer before I go back in to the saucer to do the battles and win some prizes?

| Ginger | It's up to you. By the way, are you playing it on PC, or PS? And did you use the same platform the first time around? If you wish to level up, go to Junon, to the walkway just past the elevator that Rufus went in earlier, trigger the alarm near the soldiers and that is a great if somewhat dangerous place to level up.

| | By natural progression you should be around about level 28 when you get to Cosmo Canyon, so I think you are doing quite well. The best time to level up is as soon as you can go to Wutai, but I think you have to do the Yuffie bit (If you have her) first, not too hard but yeah. Hope that helps

| | I always recommend leveling up. I too progressed through the game quicker this past time I played, but before I moved on from main story point to main story point I would spend at least 15 minutes or so leveling up. I don't recall exactly, but I was much higher than lvl 25 at Golden Saucer. It made the game somewhat easier too, since stats were higher than they should have been at any given moment of the game, so boss fights and normal activities were easier. Do some sidequests too. I didn't touch them the first time I played, and this time around I'm going for 100%. You get more of the story line too. | ||||||||

153 | I spent a couple of hours at the weekend levelling up (not got yuffie yet, just got Cait Sith in the Saucer). So think I'm going to back track in my little jeep to the first river crossing you come across and try that cave (can't remember what was in there). By the Way... When I first past the "Condor" and tried giving the guy at the top the funds for joining the fight, after I gave him 5,000gil (he asked for 4,000gil) he then asked for me to supply at least 4,000gil?! Does this mean i have to give him at least 8,000gil?

153 | I don't know what you've been taking but hand some over! I'm playing on the PlayStation by the way. I've levelled up to Lvl 30 now, got Yuffie (you little minx) and been to Cosmo Canyon last night. Think I must be on track with my levelling cos the boss at Cosmo Canyon seemed alright. Which boat are you up to? The one leaving with Rufus on it where you have to march in time (which I didn't! Couln't get the bloody hang of it!).

153 | Ah yeah. You're not that far behind me. Just a few hours play i reckon. I fought lost number at level 28 (now at lvl 30) and found him pretty easy to be honest, the bugger was finding out the code for the safe that gets you into the lost number fight! Sorted that out now, got vincent and off to find sephorith.... the story continues

n/a | I save leveling up until you can go to the Wutai Island Area as someone mentioned early. If you level up on the grayish brown mountain range area in the overworld, the enemies give great experience and AP, as well as a lot of High Potions, X Potions, and Phoenix Downs. Also good for leveling up Limit Breaks, Lightning Birds raise your limit bars, and all battles have 4-5 enemies, except for one that has 3 I think. Best place on Disc one IMO. | ||||||||

153 | I've started doing that. Levelling up at every open space, see if i encounter different enemies and get any items i didn't before. Will see what happens when i get to Wutai island area though and give it a go. Haven't played in a week though, got Tales of Symphonia and been playing that, but going to have another crack at FFVII tonight. Anyone else playing it at the min?

| Ginger | Oh btw Dirka Dirka, I meant to say but I haven't been online in a while that the reason I asked you if you were plaing on PS or on PC is because the difficulty level of the game is harder on PC than on PS, I don't know why personally but Square admitted it. The 'Sephiroth being stronger' thing is a kinda myth. He IS stronger... but only if you reach level 98-99. His stats slightly increase and he has three times his normal health. But if you reached this leveling you should be able to destroy him anyway lol. He's not hard really.
