Aerith or Aeris?

The technical name would be Aerith, but that sounds stupid, and I would imagine that is why they originally changed it to Aeris when the game first came out.

Aeris is a great name. Square should realize this.

Yes, I agree, it does sound better than Aerith, but the problem with that is, Aeris is not her name. Square mispronounced the name. You can't blame them for fixing a mistake.

Dude, That's her name from FFVII and you can see her name in Crisis Core when you finish the game"In the credit".

Aeris just seems right cause Aerith just seems like what u name her in kingdom hearts cause of the big *ahem* sephiroth incedent in final fantasy 7 *cough* *cough*.

Also i see a huge difference in Aerith in Kingdom hearts and Aeris in Final Fantasy 7 (i like this topic ^^)

They didnt mispronounce her name. They got the translation wrong when they were translating the game into english.
In FFVII it was intended to be translated 'Aerith' but was translated into 'Aeris' instead.
Thats why Crisis Core used 'Aerith'.

I do remember reading years back, before Advent Children came out, that Aeris was a typo and Aerith is the proper spelling, due to her name being a rearrangement of "I Earth"

Regardless, i've replayed FFVII with changing her name to Aerith and i'm fine with it. Considering all the typos that were plagues in the NA version ("This guy are sick" for example), it's no surprise there would ahve been a mistake like that

Aerith sounds like it could be her Japanese name or something of the sort. But I do believe that Aeris would be a right fit, if it was an anime show and FFVII was English Dub, Aerith could be the Japanese version name. Aeris is the only name I can remember out right, so it shows more feeling then Aerith.
