Well I know where the name Aerith came from. It's quite obvious really. They were merely trying to mess with Germans and their inability to pronounce the "th" sound. Soon the name Aeris developed.......okay not really.
Cain was right with his proof...for all I know at least. |

Aerith? Hm, I always call her Aeris, then, when I was watching the movie they started calling her Aerith which was really weird and then I was all confused. I still call her Aeris

I usually use Aeris, but because I'm too lazy to remember proper rules for grammar in possesive cases when the name ends in an "s", I usually use "Aerith's" when talking about Aeris in relation to something/someone.

I was always used to saying "Aeris".
Everytime someone says "Aerith", I try not to freak out. It makes me sound like I have something wrong with my speech, it's quite depressing. Then of course, there's the "Lockheart" vs. "Lockhart" problem. -__-;; That also gets me testy. It's all quite confusing. But bottom line for me: Aeris.

Also with the "th" being pronounced as an "s" you can hear it in the music when fighting Sephiroth at the end of the game.
The choir sing "Sephiros" which I imagine is because they're pronouncing it using Japanese language rules. |
