Best final fantasy game?

taking all the older games out of the equation, FF7 has the best story, FF8 has the best hero, FF9 has the best look/skill system, FF10 has the best battle system (turn based), FFX-2...um...well..........yeah.....FFXI NEVER ENDS !...

course they all have their bad points...

FFVII = poor graphics
FFVIII = Poor gameplay (don't have to level...wtf?)
FFXI = weak pointless story line
FFX = ANNOYING ENGLISH DUB, + wakka ^_^
FFX-2 = i am not even going to begin insulting it, i will be here all day
FFXI = people dont like p2p games so much...

My personal favourite by a mile. Maybe because it was my first FF, but I loved every minute of it and it remains my favourite to date.

I would say calling it the best is an opinion,and many do indeed say ff7 is the best final fantasy game,however my opinion would have to be that ff8 is the best.

My favourites are ff10 and 6. Both of em have maaad story lines and awesome characters (except wakka and tidus). Though at the end of it, when tidus is a little more mature, especially at the confrontation with his father, that was heart wrenching to say the least.

It don't have anything to say better or not better, of course after the grapfhic this is not the best game. But after population it is. Final Fantasy VII won with 9,3% votes of the best Final Fantasy game 2005.

For me Final Fantasy VII is the best of the series so far, it is one of the few Final Fantasy games that I have played and it was great for me.

I'd say FF7 is the best FF game for ME. I enjoyed it from beginning to end the most. I never got bored playing it. FF8 would be MY second best with FFX FF9 I can't decide wich one I like better from those three... But tha's My opinion...

FFVII is probably one of my favorite FF titles, but IX gets my vote. FFVII has a great storyline and the characters are cool along with the chocobos. And I liked the materia system, but the graphics were bad.

I'd rather not think of FFVII as the "best" of the series, but it's undoubtably the most revolutionary. Yes, the graphics for the most part were horrid, but the storyline was alright, and game play more than made up for their donkey hands.

Anyway, I do regard, in that sense, that it's the better of the batch. But not the best.

Even though truely VII is the most overrated game to exist (everyone here knows it deep down) in my opinion i would say it is the best. but XII may be the best. it comes out tomorrow so we will have to see. but im buying IX today. but yes so far in my opinion VII is my favorite.

Dirge of Cerebus was a mediocre first person shooter with a lame story that was only made because Square knew fans would buy it just because it had the words "Final", "Fantasy", and "Seven" in it. Good game, but completely pathetic compared to Final Fantasy VII.

I recommend Splinter Cell to you, boy.
