Advent Child and Dirge of Cerberus are both sequels.

An FF7 remake/sequel/anything is just pointless really. It's only gonna please graphics whores and FF7 fanboys, thus getting SE a tonne of money though...

They are both sequels true, but AC is not a playable sequel, and DC is not exactly what a true FF VII fan would call a sequel.

By sequel I mean a full sequel RPG of FFVII picking up from Crisis Core for the PS3. It could be done, if done properly. It would require the entire original FFVII team though. I wouldn't trust any FFX, XII staff members to work on it.

They both continue the story of FFVII, therefore they're sequels. There's no if, but or maybe about it.



Crisis core is a PSP game and is a prequel, by the way.

The people who worked on FFX and XII are the ones who worked on most of the others.

And I don't know how you can say anything about XII when you haven't even played it.

I suppose it depends on what you view a sequel to be, whether or not you see a sequel as something that directly carries on or whether it's something that strays away from the original topic. I agree with Palazzo and would say that they're both sequels.

hehe They are sequels, the story continues in both AC and DoC, but Doc is a shooter with Vincent and AC is a movie.

If you ask me I think they could have spared themself with DoC but hey, gotta make a living right?

I thought Before Crisis was the prequel? Maybe I'm getting something confused... I thought it went:

BC, FF: LO, FF VII, AC, DoC, CC

I saw a video for VII when it is released for PS3 and it looks really good, its only the opening but i am not complaining.

Yes, that was only the tech demo for the PS3 to show what the PS3 was capable of producing. I know... they just HAD to do it with a FFVII trailer, and tease all of us, which may not end up being in vain after all....

I've read two seperate articles stating Square-Enix plans on announcing some heavily awaited news at the upcoming E3 show... I think it's in April or May.

Maybe that tech-demo was just the start of things to come?

There have been so many statements made that there are no plans to remake FFVII...We can all hope though. The Tech demo brought me close to fainting...lol. And then upon researching it, It seems that no remake is in the process, but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Thinking more about it, I'm almost willing to bet money that they remake FF:VII eventually...hell, probably for the PS3. You never know what they've got up their sleeves over at SE. They could have said that they were showing the trailer for FFVII as a tech trailer to prevent total hysteria over the thought of a remake. They could have been showing it to test the waters and see what kind of reaction it would get...and not for technical reasons. There are thousands of other trailers they could have made to show...so why choose a game that's nearly 10 years old? There gas got to be something else going on over there.

They'd be retarded not to make it. They'd be rolling in cash if they did. Think about it. They're releasing all of these games and a movie...all revolving around FFVII. Chances are, they're just saving the best for last and keeping it under tight wraps.
