OH YES!!!! MUST REMAKE!!!!!!!!!

AND THEY ARE GOING TO.

Square officials have said that they are going to remake it but no word of when.
so all we can do is hope that it will be soon.

Also RUMOURS say that they maybe will remake both FFVIII and FFIX if sales on FF VII is high.

Actually, SE have said that they aren't remaking it.

ACTALLY they said this.

when reps were asked about further information about final fantasy vii for the ps3 they gave hints to more plans to the original game and said that the fans of final fantasy 7 will be very impressed and if the new version of final fantasy 7 went well then further projects would be made (maybe to the other final fantasy’s).

There were no promises that Final Fantasy 7 would come out anytime soon but its not a question of will anything happen, its a question of when will it happen.

I know they said that they wasn't going to but it seems like they think it would sell because FF VII on PS1 still is selling copies.

I think they're referring to the compilation of FF7 rather than a remake of it.

Since at the end they say:

There was no PROMISES. there NEVER are until they have started with the game.

BUT as it said it is not a question IF it is WHEN, so it can take years from now, but it seems like they are going to do it. That is all.

But I am staffmember on that site and I can ask him where he got that information. I have been curious myself since I first saw it the day it was posted.

Iam going to post it in this thread if he answers.

BUT I hope they are going to remake that game and with the graphics on the videoclip you posted a link to, it would be great if the did it.

I think Square will eventually make a sequel to FF VII. From a money perspective I could see them doing a remake for the PS3 engine, but from a fan perspective I think they should make a sequel. I think it will happen, just not anytime soon. I think they realize how high in demand this concept is, and they see how popular the FF7 spin off's have become... their marketing heads are not idiots, they know what we want. When is the question.

Indeed HB, I have asked the guy the question of where he got that info, so now it's the waiting game since I don't have that guy on my IM stuff.

But a remake or sequel or whatever FF7 WILL sell enough for SE to make it.

Maybe enough to get other FF's re-made.

I think that they'll remake FFVII, also. Not to please the fans, but so the big wigs at SE can milk us for more cash. Everybody knows that if they made a remake, it would sell like mad.

Remakes of FF VI, VII, VIII, IX -- all would sell like 'mad'

I personally would buy all four, but I think Square is gonna do what I've thought since day one and that is once the project is almost complete... drop a huge surprise on the fans. May take a couple years... but remakes for the PS3 would be nothing short of amazing.

Sounds to me like the "possibilities" are there! Although it saddens me to not see a sequel pertaining to the actual FFVII game published in 1997, a remake would suit me just fine.

Uuuuhm I belive FF VII Dirge of Cerberus is a sequel, am I right or was that game before the FF VII RPG?
