The way I have it now I'm using Cloud and Aeris as static party members. I switch between Barriet and Tifa, leveling them up equally. After certain events transpire, it'll be Cloud, Barret, and Tifa. Gotta keep the original members of AVALANCHE together, you know?
 ...Or something.

Clouds -=- Mainly because you had to but also because of him limitbreaks
Cid -=- Fairly Powerful, also had a great limit break and if I remember correctly his parts of the story line were quite funny. Red XIII -=- He was quite powerful and useful It didnt really bother me too much but those we're the characters I ended up using the most, It would of been Aeris instead of Cid if it was for her Untimly death because of her ever so useful "White Mage" limits.

cloud-his powerful limitbreaks
vincent-my fav char! tifa-well....i like her i still remember when we have to use aeris while going to the ancient pyramid..i made tifa to kill aeris.heh...i hate aeris too much.

I was always fond of Cloud, Aeris, and Barret.... a close range, a healer, and a long-range gunner.... good combo... but only for a while... afterwords, I used Vincent in Aeris's place....

Cloud-I use him for basic physical attacks.
Tifa-I have her good with magic, light and dark. Vincent-My weakest of the three, but I use him for pretty much all summons. And that alone makes up for it, thanks to Buhamut Zero.

My Team was
Cloud Nanaki Cat Sith I didnt really like to use aeris cause u end up losin her later but shes my next character in the team before i get cat sith ive played final fantasy 7 lots of time so next time im gonna use cloud yuffie vincent cause i never used them before so it will add new talking and new parts to the story making it new. |

Actually, I constantly change my people... almost.
Cloud always - He has highest stats period, and best (literally) limit breaks. By leaving Midgar it was Cloud, Aeris, Barret, it stayed that way until Vincent, who I replace Barret with. Then I get Cid who I keep in reserve. So until Aeris dies, its Cloud, Vincent, Aeris. In the fight against Jenova its Cloud, Cid, Barret (Same for Rapps). Then it stays that way the rest of the game. Why? Multi-hit limit breaks, since everyone can hit for 9999 anyways, and hitting every opponent with a limit break isn't special especially since the multi's hit them all several times anyways. They also had amazing stats and Barret already had a long-range weapon, by this time I've multi'd the Long-range materia 2-3 times, so everyone stays in the back. Barret is my tank, Cid is healer/damage dealer, and Cloud is main magic user/summoner/uber damage dealer. If anything, I'd replace Barret with Vincent, but I don't because that multi-hit Catastrophe is too good. |

Before aeirs died, it wast cloud, tifa, and aries...
after aries died, it was cloud, tifa, and anyone... Tifa was owning and i liked her limit breaks... actually, yuffies pretty good also... this thread just proved how NO ONE uses cait sith... sad.... |

cait sith has some advantages but, none that out weigh anyone elses. its just a pointless character in my eyes... i guess except that cat and the keystone quest.... id much rather see the main characters prevail in the game...
i was using ----------------- cloud tifa barret but now im using ----------------- cloud tifa red xiii ill probably use cid in red's place when i reach rocket town, sound smart? |
