Cait Sith

This conundrum has been bugging me recently. We all know there are two Cait Siths. But are they both controlled by Reeve? The first one says not to forget him even if another Cait Sith comes along, which suggests no, and the first president tells Reeve to take a vacation early on. And why would Shinra let him carry on with the party after he screwed up so badly the first time around?

Alternatively, how would Reeve know everyone and everything that happened so quickly after arriving for the first time if he wasn't behind the wheel of the first Cait Sith? This is driving me slightly nuts.

Personaly... I don't think that it should bug you so much hun... (I didn't meen that last remark to seem cocky to you, just in case you interpreted it that-a-way.) Cait Sith is Cait Sith... But personaly I think it is Reeves both times because Cait Sith (2) knows everything that has happend... Maybe Reeves was scared that he was going to lose his job because he helped Cloud and everyone out with the Temple crushing thingy... Maybe he was thinking that he would get fired and someone else had to take over the job and it just so happens to turn out that he didn't lose his job... Yep, that is what I believed happend.

Cait Sith itself is just a mechanical toy that is controlled by Reeve. So if one gets crushed (like happened at the temple), he could just send another (like he did) and control that one. Reeve was probably doing it in secret so he could spy on Shinra for the party like he did.

yeah i think that just about sums it up. the cait sith that the party meet was just a toy (controled by Reeve both times) so try not to pull anymore hair out over this one

I agree with Palazzo too, however, like cait sith says, 'don't forget me if another' blah blah you know... it does make you wonder...

i think that line did sum it up, though. If it wasnt for that line then it would of been a bit more confusing. i still dont get how, if vincent was sleeping for 30-or-so years (i know the experiment stopped him ageing), but how come his hair grew really long but he didnt grow a beard? Did he just randomly wake up when he needed a shave or something?

i think that shinra created like 10 cait siths so that if 1 had a systems crash or something then they could just send another, then when reeve goes on vacation he brings another 1 with him and sends it of when cait sith 1 gets crushed.

It really doesn't matter, CaitSith could have been controled by multiple people.. I am sure that cait sith was like a bug ( to record conversations) and shinra knew everything cloud and company said. So mabey they killed Reeve and had someone elese controll the Toy.... Like I said It really doesn't matter..... (sorry If I soumd like an ass but its my opinion)

It would make no sense if they had killed Reeve, or even if the new Cait Sith was controlled by someone else, as the ShinRa company was still acting against Cloud and Co., and Cait Sith was still acting in favor of Cloud and Co. Cait Sith helped rescue Tiff and Barret, after all, when the company wanted to put them to death. So if the company sent the new person, this new person would be acting on behalf of the company and would not be trying to save Tiff (or TIFA! Ha! Yes, ShinRa was trying to kill a forum member... shut up) and Barret (if we saw this new Cait Sith at all at that point.)

It is a little bit odd that the first Cait Sith asked them not to forget about him, and then a new Cait Sith shows up two seconds later. Almost like that Cait Sith had an individual personality, or something. He was also giving a monologue before that point, like he was actually going to die in that temple. Reeve obviously wasn't going to die in that temple, however... It is odd, and it does make you wonder (and by you, I obviously mean me.)

I think of Cait Sith to be funny. He can be a useful Charecter at times. But that robot that he road on was stupid looking. Sometimes that were I think FFIX got the Quina Idea from. Tha robot Cait Sith road on.
