theres part of me thats wants it and part of me that doesn't. I do because a. i love ff7!!!! and b. i have the 40gb ps3 so would love to play it again! also they can add in some new parts to the games which would just be awesome.

the reasons i dont want it remade tho is because it was pure genious and a masterpiece in its own right and theres a high chance that making it again could spoil what was once a game that sooo many people spent 100s of hours playing over those few years and possibly even now.

in the end i would it remade!

i personally would love to see 7 remade, but not with many changes. i find VII to be very replayable as is. the only changes i would like to see would be voice overs and graphics upgrade. no changes to plot story line or the world!!! a few new subgames and maybe a side quest or two would be nice and incorperating the 6-axis PS3 controal system into it. but other then those few things nothing else should be changed!!

but as of now nothing has come of a VII remake, there have been countless posts that lead to the same results, which is not a no but not a yes either. i can see them remaking VII in the future but not anytime soon, so i wouldnt hold your breath about it. i can see SE remaking most of the FF's in time... heck they already have remade alot of them. i would like to see a packaged deal. kind of like a DVD set haha (wait that could be a new rumor to start!)

Not to sound rude but can someone please explain to me why there is this intense infatuation with a remake of FFVII? And FFVIII for that matter?

Are they surely not better the way they are? Will they not be remembered more fondly if we leave them be?

Oh, but if there were a remake, I might finally get my hands on a copy. We can still remember it for what it was, but wouldn't it be nice to have it looking spiffy and sharp? The original will always be the masterpiece that it was, and no one will forget it was the first FF in 3-D, but I'm not against a remake. It won't do anything but take some time and work. The story would have to stay the same (otherwise I'd have to kill Square Enix) and all, so I can't see the problem.

I just want things to be easier for me to get my hands on a copy. If it looks good, even better!
