Official Advent Children English Dub Clip

I've not seen the movie or something yet, I want to finish the game first, but of the trailers I've seen in Japanese, and this one in english, I can say that:
The english dub is better made than in many movies, but I still like the japanese more. It may be because I am not familiar with japanese at all, so it sounds "cool" to me.

I doubt they would ever go to the length and trouble of editing new lip moevements into it. They are merely dubbing it the way they would with a Japanese anime or any foreign movie for that matter.

I don't mind the voice actors one bit to tell you the truth. Okay, Cloud doesn't sound the way I imagined him when I played Final Fantasy VII the first time (I imagined a really deep mysterious almost lifeless voice but whatever) but it's still good and it isn't a bad dub either. They know how to act decently enough to make this movie watchable. As Cain said, you haven't seend bad dubs if you think this is bad.........wait, think of those old cheesy chinese movies.....THAT is bad dubbing.

I personally liked Kadaj's english voice......okay the Japanese one is better but it's still a good sounding voice and he comes accross like Kadaj.....or how I imagine Kadaj to be at least.

Can't say anything about Aeris since I haven't played KH2 yet so...

This is a possibility. The creater of Shenmue thought the English dub was excellent.(I couldn't stand it. Seemed so out of place for me.) But I have seen some dubs better than the original.

I agree with most that Kadaj's voice in the JP version was much better. He sounds kiddish in this one.

I never had the opportinuty to see the Japanese version of this splendid film. But I will most def be seeing the English version on the eve of the 25th! Wow...my mind is numb just thinking about it...

I prefer original anything. The japanese voices are so pretty ^_^ walla walla bing bang and all. Great language.
I believe it's said the english dvd will also have the japanese voices on there. Thank pie for that.

The dubbing didn't bug me at all. I thought it was pretty good. When Cloud was rolling after he rolled his bike, the grunts seemed...weird, but it seemed fine to me. What was bugging me is that since I've seen the sub version so many times, the dialoge was so different from the translation in the English subs...calling him a traitor seemed more bad ass than calling him a black sheep.

Actually, after watching it the second time, Marlene screaming "Cloud" was just bad. Bad. So that is the only true complaint I have.

Still, Square will recieve my money this Tuesday.

I just watched this last night (my friend works at Blockbuster, so he got to rent it early) and I didn't find that any of the voice actors particularly stood out to me as being bad. Kadaj is fairly standard bad guy voice acting in an anime, to me (at least english dub bad guy voice acting). There were a few lines here and there that had emphasis in weird places, from what I remember (I think it was Tifa and Yuffie that stuck out to me-or maybe it was whatever lines they were saying) but over all the voice actors did a fairly good job.

Another part of the reason why I loved Cait Sith so much in this movie is because of his voice actor, too; he does a good job at sounding ridiculous. Plus, there's Spike and Jet as Vincent and Barret, respectively; can't go wrong with them.

When I first played Final Fantasy 7, I actually imagined Cloud with an even higher voice than Steve... whatever his name is. Like a teenager's voice maybe, even. So this translation with Cloud didn't bother me at all.

The english voice actors were not what bugged me about this movie. Not that I harbor deep resentment about what bugged me-it was more of a beneath the surface-type thing-but that's another topic altogether, and I don't know if it's been started yet.

as for the quality of the dubs, who cares, i'm going to watch it in subs anyway. japanese is just a much more expressive language than english is, and a lot of time dub actors interpret the intensity of the japanese inflections into over the top ridiculous performances. like the dubs for berserk (which i can't stand for more than 10 seconds before i start vomiting).

the english subs in the japanese version were pretty much completely unintelligible, i'm looking forward to the US release simply for the new, cleaner subs - **** the dub.

alright, i couldn't get past marlene talking about the lifestream...
i will try. just to give it a fair chance.

i guess watching it subbed made me feel like i was watching a movie and this makes me feel like i'm watching a cartoon.

I've already seen Advent Children three times, Jap with English subtitles....ah the wonders of Piracy, GYAR!!!!

The new voices sound cool, it will be better to watch with the English dubs rather than the Japanese.

God, I hope Rachel does a good job with Tifa's voice. Otherwise, I think I'll cry. o__o;;

i've seen the clips and the japanese version of advent children, and i think most of the voices are not really that bad, but would fit other characters better.
for example, sephiroth's voice would fit vincent a lot better. and maybe cloud's voice is more suitable for reno.
the only one that sounds cool is cid, really close to the japanese version, very close to what i imagined it'd be.
