FF7 Advent Children

Man I just got done watching FF7 Advent Children. I going to have to say, it is the best movie I have ever seen. It was as good as I thought it would be.

I like it just as much as FF7 the game. It had a great storyline, and it made sence. Even thought it had Japanes voices, and English sub, was awsome.

Does anybody agree with me? If not than tell me why you don't.

I don't because it was near enough just one big fight scene.

Hardly any story, just fighting.

That is why it was so good. That is what it was suposed to be like. Yeah I like good Story plots, but the fights are what makes everything.

Another reason why I like the movie som much is, because it was mixed with comedy, Action, and a great storyline. That is my opinion.

I would have preferred it to be a little longer, but an hour and a half movie isn't bad for a sequel to a video game. I also thought it dragged at times.

The fight scenes were of course very cool, but the in-depth story to it could have been messed with a little more before release. This is what I fear may happen if a FF:VII-2 ever comes out, and they ruin one of the best video games of all time.

If it focused a little more on extending the plots of each character, and included some more venues from the game rather than just Midgar, and a select few other places it may have been better. Overall I liked it, it definitley served well as a movie, instead of an entire game plot.

*Note: Future posters keep in mind spoliers for readers who haven't seen Advent Children.

Yeah they could have made it longer. I also think that the storyline of the movie should have been the same storyline from the game. Just with a little bit more added on. But other than that it was a great movie.

One thing I didn't like about the movie, was that Omnieslash was so much diffrent than the one in the game. I thought it should be the same as the regular omnieslash.

Why do some people think that a sequel to a game may ruin its predecessor? Thats not true at all. Even if FF7-2 did indeed suck, why would it make FF7 bad? It wouldnt. So why think that?

It may make you think differently of the storyline, and could make you see FF7 in a different way, however, you could think of it as FF7 is FF7 and FF7-2 is FF7-2...

Personally myself, I think FF7 is way over rated, sure, its a good game, but it is so over rated its pretty messed up. So over rated some people would fear something like a sequel ruining the predecessor.

Any good action movie needs a decent amount of storyline/plot. Advent Children didn't.

I never though of that. I would definitely be down for watching a CG movie like Advent Children, that was based on the story of the game. But you'd already know what would happen... so maybe AC would just have been better if it was more in depth and longer, the idea and story was just too short.

it made me nostalgic. it's fan service.
[spolier]sephiroth appears simply to appease fans[/spolier]. kadaj and the gang's whole goal is trivial. nomura's a good director, but someone must have pulled an all-nighter when writing this.

Am I the ONLY American fan that's actually patient enough to wait until FF7: AC is released in the U.S. to watch it? I mean, knowing me, I probably wouldn't understand the Japanese version anyways right now, even with subtitles. I find it more fun to sit and wait in suspense.

And you have to admit, for the amount of time we had to wait for this movie (a good three years), the creators served us good.

A lot of American's waited. It's just the select few (us) who had the opportunity to watch it, and don't mind english subtitles. I prefer it in it's originality anyways -- however I'll watch it to see how the American voice-overs are, and buy it for the collector's item.

Ah, see, no, I'm different. I'd rather watch it in American voiceovers, understand what's going on, then go back and watch it in Japanese w/ American subtitles to hear the view the Japanese took it on with.

And collector's items? Peh. Collecting my butt. Who needs to collect when you can enjoy it for yourse...

...Why do I even bother.

I am collecting it for myself, lol. I collect a lot of Final Fantasy / Squaresoft related products. From games and dolls, to mugs and posters.

I enjoy having stuff like this, even if it may never be worth money. I look at it all from time to time and it brings back those good ole days of gaming.
