FFVII Anime - Who Wants Some?

Right...haven't seen this posted up here so close this if its been done.

Quote:
Along with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Final Fantasy VII: Last Order was created as a bonus feature in the Japanese Limited Edition set. Last Order is a short anime film created for fans of the beloved game to demonstrate the events at Nibelheim in a more clear perspective. Last Order brings to Final Fantasy VII fans a vivid description of the occurrences at Nibelheim from a different angle, which was Square-Enix’s intent.

Final Fantasy VII: Last Order took place in two different time periods, one five years ago before the events of Final Fantasy VII and another just before the happenings of the game occurred. The first scene of the short film opened up the scenario for what would be taking place, concentrating on Zack and Cloud’s escape from the Nibelheim Shin-Ra Mansion. The small movie was very nicely done, and Final Fantasy VII fans who watch it were able to recognize parts from the game placed into the anime, which was rather exciting, as well as be given even more information about what really took place during the five years. The battle scenes, few yet pleasing, were designed very well, and even had one sometimes give us a few shockers. The anime was drawn beautifully and very detailed, even to the point of getting down to the nitty-gritty of character and location design.
Though I'm loathe to watch Advent Children before it coems state side, in my view this anime short will likely never see the states. As such, I went ahead and downloaded the torrent for this and gave it a watch.

The animation is quiet good and reminds me a little of the style used in the Trigun series. I think they got the voice acting spot on and they captured the characters fairly well (of course with a character like Zack all you really need to do is make a more egotistical Cloud...and frankly it works).

Zack was pretty cool and admirable in this, I can see why Aeris loved him in the original game now. I think Sephiroth was captured fairly well...its clear that he is completely emotionally destroyed and quiet mad.

Now there ARE about...three points in this anime that completely contradict the game. Firstly, Tifa's father dies outside of the Mako Reactor rather than inside it, Sephiroth stabs Cloud TWICE and then he jumps into the lifestream of his own free will, and then there's a part where Zack is shot at while they're hitchhiking in the truck...thus cutting out a bit of text that WAS in game. Obviously not ALL of the insident is covered, but this anime serves to fill in a few gaps and expand on the character of Zack and the Turks.

By the Turks I mean not only Reno, Rude, Elena, and Tseng but the 'other' Turks that are in Before Crisis. (Which it seems will be released over hear on PSP under the name 'Final Fantasy: Crisis Core'.

I've seen it. It's like an anime-version of that FMV you get if you go inside the mansion, when you're at disc 2 I think?

Well, Nostalogical it was fun to watch. But it really wasn't that great.

NOTE:

Links to torrents are against the rules.

Totally different game.

It looks like it's going to involve Zack as the main character.

Yeah, I also downloaded Last Order a month or so ago. I liked it a lot. I was glad to actually see some clips of Zack that last longer than a couple seconds. I liked is character a lot. He's cocky as hell but still very loyal and protective of Cloud. I don't really want to give any of the story away. But it is really good!

Last Order was nice ... I loved the CxT in it. Hahahha. <3 Honestly though, there were a few things that didn't run in line with the game and I HATED that. Also, there were some things which I felt were poorly done otherwise ... in the sense that, it wouldn't be possible to do something in that manner. Honestly though, it would've been tons better if it coincided with the storyline more in relation to the latter part of the thing. X;

Last Order is bullshit. In the face of a simple project that could have given me some joy amongst the great annoyance that is the Compilation, they managed to instead piss me off by changing the original storyline. Some of these changes were to suit the Compilation, but one certain change served no other purpose than to make one of the most climatic moments in the game into something damn trivial.

Spoiler:
Sephiroth willingly jumps into the Mako pit MY ASS.

Oh I dunno about that bit. Seemed kind of tragic. Oh yes, it is utter bollocks, but nicely animated bollocks.

Now there's a point I could argue. The co-director for Crisis Core is the same person that did Before Crisis for the cell phones in Japan. So I think it may be possible we ARE going to see some before crisis characters and storyline, if not a direct port.

We might very well do. But Crisis Core has nothing to do with Before Crisis.

I was also under the impression that Crisis Core was a prequel that dealt with Zack. Not once have I seen them say that it was going to have anything to do with a Before Crisis port. Of course, judging by what they've shown in Last Order, it will probably contain the Before Crisis Turks.

Goddamn this Compilation.

Yeah I saw last order on youtube, it was good. It was nice to see the Nibelheim thing as a whole piece of animation. It kind of draws the whole thing together, as in the game different parts are more scattered (which was of course the best thing for the game as it made it more interesting). Though i do suggest for those who havent yet completed 7 that completing it before watching Last Order is the best option, because it will be a bit of a spoiler for those who havent completed it, but for those who have its a great way to draw it all together.
