New Info on FFVI for GBA

The final port for the FF series on the Game Boy Advance is ready to launch in Japan. More details have been released about the re-released masterpiece. Here is a list of just some of the extras found in the ported version of Final Fantasy VI.

- New Espers will be included.
- New three-party dungeon
- Windows/Menus will be based on the standard set in FFIV Advance
- Background music has been re-arranged for 8-channel sound
- a monster survival floor will be present
- Portrait graphics and battle backgrounds have been enhanced
- Monster dictionary and music player

Looks awesome to me. The character pics look good. At least from what I have seen on the site. The extra's sound like it will be worth buying another version of this amazing game.

Well it will probably be released much later than everywhere else BUT I don't think it will have region coding so you could simply order it from overseas.

Sounds quite interesting to play though I doubt I will get it as I have the Ps2 version and I only really want the re-release of FFV.

Just to say from what I know, the new Espers confirmed so far anyway, are Leviathan and Gilgamesh. I'm not sure about "Enhanced portraits as screens have shown Terra and Locke having the same old same old while Kefka has a brand spankin' new one (although it could be possible several things might have changed during development)

They are different, slightly, but they are enhanced.

i'm so jealous of those special edition "finest final fantasy" box sets japanese player get their hands on. looks like it comes with an art book, and a 3 disc soundtrack O_O

looks like they did the same for FFIV and FFI&II DoS as well. maybe i should get my import on!

Yea i'd def like to do the same myself, those lucky japanese.

I have to say i'm really excited about this..i wonder what this new three party dungeon is going to be like? I wonder if it's just a random dungeon thrown in or actually has some relevance to the story?

Anywayz, i'm gonna have to keep updated with any new info regarding the game, it'd be great if they could redo some of the weird translation quirks/dialogue as well.

Good info on this. Well I think I'll buy it even though I have the original one, but definitely looking foward to it. I wonder what new espers they'll add to the game though, but I'll guess I will have to wait and see.

You know, honestly, I dont know why people make such a big fuss over the translation, lol, "Atma" insteada "Ultima" makes some variation in the games, and personally, I like "Espers" over "Phantom Beasts" and "Fire 3" over "Firaga" because Firaga sounds, well, retarded. I just hope they keep some of the translation in tact *prays*

I you guys look at my thread called"Final fantasy vi advance extra missions"I want the rumors in there 2 come true in this one. Theres a monster rush mode 2?!?I guess they took that of of FFVA.

But now seriosly. I really want it. Feels like it would go away and away. First it was going to come next month and now in December. Why you can't come like tomorrow.

Those espers would be nice extra if there (would) come more magics also. Otherwise I don't find reason to more espers. I don't mind about does is has better music or graphics. Good gameplay is most important.

*refrains from bashing forehead on keyboard, then counts backwards from 100* Okay, lets see here, I dont like the stupid suffixes, Fire 3 gets the point across faster than Firaga, and it's not just that particular suffix that bothers me, it's pretty much all of them, I honestly don't like them, but that is more than likely just me *shrugs* oh well, it's like fighting the inevitable, they are gonna change that spelling, I just like Atma, and Espers, I dearly hope they dont change those. Ultima Weapon just doesn's sound as cool as Atma I think

I have to agree here, i really had no problem whatsoever with using Fire 2,3, etc. Honestly it is much quicker and easier to understand rather than knowing the suffixes. I really don't mind either way, but i saw nothing WRONG with using numbers.

As for Espers..yes i hope they don't change that. I mean PHANTOM BEASTS? come on now..gotta keep it espers.

Atma Weapon..well i don't mind the word Atma, but it really sticks out like as a sort of fluke when you notice every other game in the series uses the word ultima. That's why i would want to have that changed, just because ultima is what was originally intended.

When i said translation i meant censorship and the little things like referring to Shadow as a woman in the Veldt Cave.

Yeah... or like changing Fenix Downs and whatevertheyare (Forgot what they used in Anthologies) to Phoenix Downs and Ethers and calling "Pearl" "Holy" instead among other things.

I have heard people say that the translation was fairly half-baked and that it was censored up the wazoo. (Take the screencap thread for example of what an uncensored re-translation has Kefka say)

I would think that nowadays, as companies generally have more money to spend on games, one would think that they would hire translators that do a better job, eh?
